  1. This is pretty much my mantra. When I first took up bass, it was a Yamaha (a BB), when I returned to it many years later, it was a Yamaha again (this time an RBX).
  2. Yep. Just a couple of gigs with a dep drummer - it wasn't 'right'.

    Hi

Some very helpful folk here on BC, ask whatever you need to.
  5. If Steve Swallow, Bobby Vega or Cody Wright turn up, don’t even let them get their basses out of the gigbags, they’re losers and rubbish players.
  6. That is not good. As GG are a chain, the whole organisation has been tainted by a worker in just one of their outlets (even worse as I understand that they’re employee owned), this individual’s attitude affects everyone who works for GG - it’s a poor show and terribly selfish.
  7. To paraphrase Nigel Tuffnell, it's 17 more.

  9. I might wrong, but it looks like Fender have used the same sized pickups for neck and bridge on these, which was always going to be a compromise. That said, it's vastly improved with that new bridge.

  11. Kind of our audience last night, but age, not quantity .
  12. Unfortunately for us, there were a couple of larger events happening in town that reduced the size of our potential audience. However, those that were there (30ish) were appreciative, although there was the predictable too loud comment from some folk in the firing line of the drums. Speaking of whom, we had a dep drummer again, so all those little pushes and dynamics that make our set sound good and polished we’re missing . A small stage meant that I was right on top of my rig and no matter if I played pick or fingers, distortion on or off, tone rolled full or all off, or any other effect, it all sounded like mush . TBH, I’m getting a little tired of this aspect of playing live. Still, looks like we might have picked up another local venue to play in, as one of the audience is going to recommend us for his club.
