  1. LaBella nylon wrapped strings would help get that sound nailed.
  2. A similar effect can be had with more neck relief and a higher action too. Also, limiting the amount of vibrato applied and not sliding into notes will reduce what is normally considered to be the fretless sound.
  3. Very nice, Sir. If only there were some website, not unlike BC, that was for guitars and has a Tele Tuesday thread, where you could display this fine piece of work.
  4. Given where you are, take a visit to Guitar Guitar in either Glasgow or Edinburgh (or both) and try a few back to back.
  5. 2/3 of an easy selling price is the best you can expect. GG are no different from most retailers in this respect. They don’t see that they’re making a profit on the instrument that you buy, they want it on everything. It’s their business and that’s the way it is, plus they have 20% VAT to consider and probably free delivery, if ordered online. Commission sales are the way to go IMO if you can’t move it here or elsewhere.
  6. Start with the sofa first.
  7. Go to your account settings - content view behaviour and select the top option - save.
  8. Spoken like a true dad. No parental blinders in the Travis household.
  9. Some of mine never require adjustment, even when I restrung one of the E-C from B-G. Another one needs a tweak with the changing of the seasons (at least it did in my old house, things might be different now). Maybe the way forward is to go down the Vigier route and not have a truss rod at all.
  10. Charlie Chandler is your best port of call for advice, I reckon https://ccgx.co.uk/plek/
  11. S'art innit. I don't rate Modigliani*, but I understand he's a bit good and others think he's wonderful. I don't mind Nickleback, some of it's fine, some I find a bit trite. For my tastes, I've heard worse, much worse. *Ransom abstract artist chosen for effect, other artists are available.
  12. I always check. Changed back to slightly lower tension flat ties on my Mustang yesterday, 1/4 turn or so required to remove the buzz. All fine and dandy today.
  13. I don’t understand the Nickleback hate, they make a decent noise and can sing in tune. It does seem ‘rock trendy’ to not like them, but they still fill (or at least filled) stadia. Coldplay on the other hand 🤮 😆.
  14. Wee Ezette turns 40 next year. Where did half of those years go? I was awake and everything, doesn’t seem real (no doubt, a good proportion of that time was spent on BC!). Lovely photo of you two @AndyTravis teen years incoming! Have fun with that
  15. They are a great addition to the site. For sale items don’t slip under the radar now. Great for sellers, not so good for GAS.
  16. My favourite configuration, in short, yes.
  17. Takes practice, I’ll grant you and can lead to some embarrassment when you forget to reset it (been there, forgot that), but worth the effort IMO. Or just leave as is and use an octave pedal if really necessary.
  18. Keep the P and the Limelight. The Limelight is the best sounding J you have it seems, so should easily cover everything the other 4 string does. The 5 goes because you’re playing less and likely to be gigging less too. If you need the extended range, fit a D tuner to the Limelight.
  19. I always feel that the move to bigger fretwire has been driven by the guitar market. I much prefer narrower, vintage frets and can only think that going thinner would be a good thing. Valley Arts did a Sklar, Frankie alike, signature back in the day, as did Gibson.

Me neither, but it appears vndb is the bass player (you'd probably found this out already). Here's a link to his FB page https://www.facebook.com/VBNDmusic and a video of his band live in downtown Saskatoon.
