Given the amount derision it receives, in this country at least, even from the presenters, I’m surprised it’s survived on our TV screens as long as it has. Maybe it’s cheap to buy and fills up the schedule once a year. Perhaps it’s a Marmite thing and I’m missing the point? Power supply seems to be a commonly reported point of failure, especially if knocked (all PCB mounted IIRC). I had an LM2 paired with a 4ohm Schroeder cab, great sound, really loud. Did it break during my ownership? Yes, but it was under warranty. Was it the power supply? Yes again.

But, it’s the internet and, therefore, I must argue with that. If it wasn’t for, “IS!” “ISN’T!” there’d be no Internet social media and society as we know it would collapse.

Something that I found annoying was Graham Norton (who I don’t mind as a presenter of other shows) reading out people’s messages when they were recapping the performances with the voting numbers. I don’t give an aerial copulation about Millie & Jake watching in Cleethorpes wanting to say, “Hi, go, Sam!” (other names and locations are available). All that said, I quite liked last year’s winners’ sub-RHCP offering quite pleasing (why do they bother having amps switched on for an obviously mimed performance?) and nice to see a Dano Longhorn getting some airtime. Although, why cover up the logos on the amps, but not the guitar & bass?

Given that something like a floating trem, Strat has very limited contact with the rest of the of the instrument, that’s a question that needs consideration .
