  1. Although the Zappa, Pee song seems appropriate, I have used it before, more than once Theefore:- Burning Down The House - Talking Heads
  2. Lakland used to PLEK all their basses once upon a time, I don't know if this is still the case.
  3. In A Broken Dream - Python Lee Jackson
  4. I still want to see a new band use Tony Levin’s suggestion of ‘Post Burrito Depression’. However, as has been said, inoffensive and appropriate are what are called for here. Therefore, something along the lines of ‘Celebration Day’, ‘Good Times’ (or Thymes) or ‘Get It On’ would work, albeit dull.
  5. I keep wanting to like The Smiths because of the bass and guitar work, but can never get beyond Morrissey’s whining and as I managed to get past Geddy’s voice (I’m now a big Rush fan), that’s saying something.
  6. That’s what she said. Where the Streets Have No Name - U2
  7. What I’ve heard on the radio hits the spot for my tastes. RK is a brilliant guitarist and a great singer to boot (very Chris Cornell). His solo stuff is just superb.
  8. Having just discovered short scales, if I didn’t have a Mustang already, I’d buy a Vintera Mustang, a MM short scale Ray, or a Chowny SWB.
  9. Sweet Like Chocolate - Shanks & Bigfoot
  10. Epsom used to be my local store. When I was buying my 4003s, the truss rods needed adjusting and the tech did it with speed, ease and accuracy so I could have a better demo experience. This turns out to have been no mean feat, I tried adjusting the neck some months later, having bought it and made an initial pig’s ear of it. I also had an Epiphone Casino, with Bigsby, totally set up, including fret levelling, by Epsom. When I picked it up it was a different playing guitar, real quality. I can only hope that my new ‘locals’ are as good (I can’t think why they wouldn’t be).
