  4. An excuse to buy more gear? You’ve come to the right place (do I hear a distant mwah, ha, ha?). Medium and short scales are very de rigeur right now. Check out the short scale appreciation thread and the 32” thread for some inspiration.
  5. Ooh, the Reverend Sentinel in turquoise is right up my aesthetic alley. The black is super classy. However, they all look pukka.

  8. Glad he’s back, but that headstock is Marmite and I’m in the not liking it camp (I do like Marmite though).

  13. Welcome back.
  14. I have agree with this. I had no issues at all intonating my 4003s, or palm muting. The bridge is effectively just a tunomatic type affair, perhaps more fiddly than a BBOT or Badass, but not much. The dual truss rods are different, but OK once you understand what’s going on. My Ric was one of those basses that when I heard it I knew I just had to have that tone in my life and it was the nature of the pickups with their differing outputs that gave that final tone. My only gripes were some slapdash finishing details (I’ve had that with other basses too, including custom builds) and the weight of the all maple construction. It was the weight that eventually made me part company with it and if I’d opted for the walnut/maple construction, I might still have it today.

  16. There’s your answer. If you like what it does, job done. Next…
  17. This Masquerade - Leon Russell
  18. Less Than Zero - Elvis Costello
  19. Yep, that headstock is grim. I’m also not keen on the push button concept. However, there seem to be plenty of other folk who like it.
  20. No so much a quote, but still more solid advice from Frank Zappa, "Shut up and play your guitar."
  21. Down in the Sewer - The Stranglers
  22. Gutter Cat vs The Jets - Alice Cooper
  23. Werewolves of London - Warren Zevon
