  1. My favourite configuration, in short, yes.
  2. Takes practice, I’ll grant you and can lead to some embarrassment when you forget to reset it (been there, forgot that), but worth the effort IMO. Or just leave as is and use an octave pedal if really necessary.
  3. Keep the P and the Limelight. The Limelight is the best sounding J you have it seems, so should easily cover everything the other 4 string does. The 5 goes because you’re playing less and likely to be gigging less too. If you need the extended range, fit a D tuner to the Limelight.
  4. I always feel that the move to bigger fretwire has been driven by the guitar market. I much prefer narrower, vintage frets and can only think that going thinner would be a good thing. Valley Arts did a Sklar, Frankie alike, signature back in the day, as did Gibson.

Me neither, but it appears vndb is the bass player (you'd probably found this out already). Here's a link to his FB page https://www.facebook.com/VBNDmusic and a video of his band live in downtown Saskatoon.
  6. Turn to Stone - Joe Walsh (one of my all time favourite tracks).
  7. Under Pressure - Queen/Bowie
  8. It took me a few seconds to work out that this is not a miniature bass.
  9. Janie’s Got A Gun - Aerosmith
  10. Digging in the Dirt - Peter Gabriel
  11. Cash On The Barrel Head - The Louvin Brothers
  12. I went on the site just to see how much they were and added one to the basket and then went to checkout by mistake! Pulled back from the brink, brought on, not by GAS, but by fat fingers! PHEW! Close one. 😰
  13. Money for Nothing - Dire Straits
  14. Jimmy Haslip of the Yellowjackets and other bands, is another ‘skinny strings up’ IIRC.
  15. Oh, bollocks! 😢
  16. What a marvellous addition! Well played, guys. 👏👏👏
  17. I’m not surprised, that’s a beauty. This one slipped under my radar on the original post, just as well too. Someone is going to be very happy methinks.
  18. Ooh, I’m seeing pictures in the unread content list (just the for sale section?), I like that. 👍
  19. 2 day round trip to and from the place I moved to get away from, plus the delights of the M6. Trains? It's cheaper and quicker to fly, but I'm not doing that if I can help it in the current climate. In short - Pass.* *Not on the bass you understand, it's currently stoking my GAS and my local UPS service is quite excellent
  20. Absolutely, but credit where credit is due.
  21. Agreed, I much prefer them to the cloverleaf. However, as lollipops they taste awful, although they do last a long time.
  22. Le Freak - Chic
  23. This seems to be back again EDIT: But not all the time, this post worked just fine.
  24. Ready and complete with ranks too. However, whilst Ped and the other admins created a potential spawning ground for such a coming together (), I think @Newfoundfreedom must take the plaudits for the formation of this thread, even if it was never potentially, envisaged that it would descend down this, often surreal, path.
