Pino is the reason I’ve always had a fretless and one of the main reasons I play bass at all. Having played a fretless from almost the get go, I (think I) managed to get a handle on it early enough to get over the, “Yikes, that sounds horrible!” Opinions differ of course .

It’s just occurred to me that there has been the Fender PP sig, now we have the MM PP sig, when are Moon going to bring out a PP sig?

Pino also used his FL ‘Ray with PSP, not really that recent, but still in the last 15 years. FWIW, I played Pino’s ‘Ray, many, many years ago. I don’t remember much about the feel, tone, etc, just feeling really nervous 😬. Dammit, I now have ‘Ray GAS again, even though I know they’re not really my thing!

The fretted version does, but not the FL, so no savings.

Me too, but I won’t be buying one, even if it was priced the same as a non sig ‘Ray. I’ve had 4 ‘Rays, but I’ve never kept them. My other all time fave is Tony Levin, so I have extra inducement to go MM. However, I’m not Pino or Tony (sadly) different things work for me, which is handy, as it’s saving me a fortune .

That is very sad news. Terri was, as been said previously, always good fun. Heartfelt condolences, @Tinman.

There was a TV program about her a while ago (probably marking the anniversary of JLP) and she came over really well, very grounded, but still a glint of rebellion. I can see how some won’t like her voice, but I don’t mind it (Rush fan here, so used to challenging vocal tone) and I have a copy of JLP. The lyrics to Ironic are still annoying, but it’s just a song. I saw someone had a banner or T shirt in the crowd that read, “It rained on my wedding day,” and couldn’t help thinking, so what? Rained on mine too, wasn’t ironic, it was September .
