No such luxuries for us, maybe a storage area to change in rather than the bogs. Never any problems with the bar staff, but the committee members, who plainly don’t speak to each other and have agendas. The money is better than pubs, but the vibe is often one of ambivalence, with most wanting bingo and some dodgy Spotify playlist. We’re plainly playing the wrong venues.

We mainly play clubs and there is always some bloody issue or other. I do not like them.

I always wear hearing protection when playing live. However, even though I have a range of shapes and sizes, including moulded custom ones, they’re never really comfy, or just block out too much (-9db on the customs, still woolly ).

You can have both, I do. The hyperacusis is more recent (in the last 10 years). Fortunately, there is some form of treatment for it that involves listening to faint, white noise for short periods of time (mine in through my hearing aids), it’s still a new area apparently. However, this can trigger my tinnitus to be louder. 😤

This, for sure. I wear my hearing aids pretty much just for watching TV or if I'm out with others and want their speech to be clearer. I don't wear them all the time as things like wind and general noises can be quite pronounced (despite filter settings) and make my tinnitus and hyperacusis worse. Again, very true.

I’ve had it for decades and it has become worse recently, despite protection.

Myth. Someone with bat like hearing will claim that they can hear a difference, but I call shenanigans. Your bass, your decision. As long as it’s played and not kept in a case, it fulfills its purpose. Yes, yes it would.
