  1. Owner of a Lonely Heart - Yes
  2. My first, proper rig was an Ashdown ABM 300 2x10 + 2x10 cab. Sounded good, but was a beast to lug around. Eventually bought another 2x10 cab and replaced the combo with an ABM head. Still bloody heavy and bulky, despite the neodymium speakers I retrofitted. The flat, baked in, scooped tone sounded great soloed, but needed fiddling with live. However, that fliptop is so pretty.
  3. The ebony board on my fretless has shrunk that there is now a definite ridge between board and neck. I’m sure a light sanding would level it all up, but as I don’t feel when playing, I’m disinclined to attack it.* *I reserve the right to attack it at the first available opportunity 😆.
  4. Obvious, but inevitable... Psycho Killer - Talking Heads
  5. I was going to ask if ennui had anything to do with it; I was right! Yeah, I get it, I’ve seen adverts for the new (?) fliptop Ashdowns and just want one.
  6. All or Nothing - The Small Faces
  7. I recently discovered the Prime Tones after watching some Cody Wright videos. I went for the sculpted & textured variety. I really like the grippy surface and the tone is pleasing. However, switch to guitar (I know, I know) and these picks really make a tonal difference. Way of the future for me.
  8. What drives this thought process?
  9. Istanbul (Not Constantinople) - They Might Be Giants
  10. I know! I think it was for in house techs.
  11. Passage to Bangkok - Rush
  12. I blagged a bottle (250ml?) with a guitar purchase sometime in the last century. It’s still about half full and has to be shaken occasionally to stop the components separating.
  13. My JMJ looked very pale and wan when it arrived and as I'm separated from the vast majority of my belongings (at least until next week) I wasn't able to do anything about it. However, as it's the only fretted bass I have with me at the moment, it's seen a lot of playing action and has picked up a fair bit of colour (although not nearly enough to look really nice). Haven't noticed any sharp fret ends as yet. Small derail - One thing I am noticing with the JMJ body finish, however, is that it's developing some rather nice bright, daphne blue patches where the dulling coat is wearing through. I might have to T Cut it and make it all brighter as I rather like it.
  14. Oh, I don't know, wait around a bit
  15. Closing Time - Semi Sonic
  16. Why would you change new strings? 🤣
  17. I’m not jealous at all. I said I’m not dammit! 😆
  18. Exciting times!
  19. Yeah, me too, it was weird, almost like a nervous tic.
  20. Plainly so. However, if you’re going to hold court in the manner which has been displayed herein, I thought having the correct terminology might be useful. Leech - an aquatic or terrestrial annelid worm with suckers at both ends. Leach - (with reference to a soluble chemical or mineral) to drain away from soil, ash, or similar material by the action of percolating liquid, especially rainwater.
  21. That’s rather dismissive.
  22. Curses, too late. 2nd go. Wiggle It - 2 in a Room
  23. It’s not leached. If anything, it’ll be capillary action.
  24. Wurm - Yes (double points for a double link?)
  25. Just saw this and thought of your post...
