  1. This comes as no surprise the way you’ve been cycling recently.
  2. Where’s the NGD over on GC? What, you’ve not visited yet?
  3. Some time back I wanted/needed an electro acoustic for a project. I was very keen to buy a Takamine, but ended up with a Crafter, pretty much the same guitar for a lot less dosh.
  4. Sister Seagull - Be Bop Deluxe
  5. Night Fever - BeeGees
  6. It’s Been A Good Year For The Roses - Elvis Costello
  7. If you can track down this album from my youth, it is chock full of bum notes, many, many from the bass player; it's bordering on hysterical.
  8. Ah ha! An actual Fump. Interesting to know you found it too much, that saves me a few bob experimenting; ta!
  9. Crystal Gazing - Be Bop Deluxe (yeah, they're back!)
  10. Cheers, my man! That one looks similar to The Fump, looks a bit of a faff but better than some random foam stuffed under the strings, looking like a burst mattress.
  11. Sounds too precise for an upright and the attack doesn't sound DBish, so I call mute (if that is a DB, that's some of the best intonation ever). Ever since doing a recording with a mute, I've been really enjoying the sound and feel, especially on a my new short scale. I'd like a BassMute, but as you have said, they are a tad spiteful in terms of price and only available on import (?). The Grossman looks like the best option as the Nordymute don't do the string spacing I need in a 4.
  12. Lithium - Nirvana
  13. The Gallery looks like it had one, but that seems to have gone already. As I understood it a while back, JMJs would be available in June. I really like mine. However, I find the relicing very lazy and somewhat unconvincing, as a lot of the dings are too uniform and obviously done with the same tool in a repeating pattern. That said, it's a great playing and sounding bass, that is really well put together (the neck pocket is tighter than a gnat's chuff). Seymour Duncan really should release that pickup to the general public, but I imagine Fender have made a deal where they can't, thus preventing folk upgrading cheaper Mustangs like the Vintera or Squiers.
  14. Ernie - Premium Bond, I'm guessing. I rather liked that link. Bugger too slow! Let's try again... Nothing Else Matters - Metallica
  15. From that, I assume that it's the J pickup that's adding the bland honk. I expected better from Aguilar.
  16. That is stunning looks wise. Shame about the head heaviness on the strap, but it seems a full scale, 5 string is a bit much for the chambered body. Both my 4 string Ls are spot on on the strap, but they are 33" as well (both weigh in the 3.25kg area). I assume this passive? What's the P like soloed?
  17. A Glass Of Champagne - Sailor
  18. This is spot on. My Mustang is slab bodied (although the edges are fairly rolled) but comfy enough. My hand normally falls on a P placed pickup, between the pickups on a J or at the front corner of an MM, I'm not a close to the bridge player - normally. However, the Mustang shape and size drops my hand into that classic near the bridge position position that adds that tighter, slightly nasal tone. On a Mustang, with its darker, fuller sound, is an absolute boon IMO.
  19. Great T shirt. I wore mine so much it just became a series of holes held together with some cotton.
  20. Our Lips Are Sealed - Fun Boy Three
  21. My Name Is - Eminem
  22. Bargain and a great circuit to boot. Nice one!
  23. I’ve not had my eyes sullied by a gents package, but why do some blokes seem to think it’s ok to make videos in shorts? It’s not a good look.
  24. Don’t It Make My Black Eyes Blue - Crystal Gayle
