You’re not alone, well up to a point, I’m aware of the title and The Killers (I’ve heard the tune previously, somewhere or other, now that I’ve listened to the YT link). I use the volume control for swells and muting, otherwise wide open for minimised resistance. The tone control gets far more use.

I've played a Sadowsky, but not a Fodera. I'm also not a fan of gold hardware, therefore, if I had to pick one, it would be the Sad. Having said that, one of the few bass tones that have emanated from the TV that has really made me sit up to see what was being used, was a Fodera (Marc van Wageningen with Tower of Power on Later with Jools).

I only discovered Artec pickups in the last year. I was blown away by the quality, especially coupled with the price. I can only imagine that their preamps will will just as stunning. Looking forward to your findings. -
