Maybe it’s like looking at a delightful scene and taking a photo of it, only to find powelines all over the sky and telegraph poles growing out of people’s heads. The brain seems to just filter this stuff out. Having my basses correctly intonated gives me a sense of satisfaction and I think I unconsciously enjoy doing it, even though I might harumph and act like it’s a nuisance. However, given that I’m not a soloist and the dusty end is just that, do I really need to bother with being precise? I don’t know, but I’ll keep on doing it anyway.

Waiting for one to land tomorrow. It was ordered for next day delivery for Saturday, but Tuesday seems to be when DPD want to deliver it (premium delivery cost refunded by the seller).

Funnily enough, I don't usually get on with them, I always seem to find the necks sticky, my Road Allen being an exception. I've played 2 of these and it wasn't an issue, so fingers crossed the new one will be the same. If not, I'll strip it and Danish Oil it, as I did with my old Roadworn P bass.

Stunning! Up until now I assumed that the body was a laminate sandwich, I had no idea it was paint job; that’s some precision painting, right there. This is going to look so awesome.

Does beer batter make fish sound different over just a water/milk mix? Do you have to use bass, or will cod do?

That’s a five string one, the four string is the SR1200 (lovely bass, those Nordstrand Big Singles are awesome).

I nearly went for a Vintera having played one and been most impressed by it. However, I was feeling down/extravagant and decided to go the whole hog, that SD pickup is very nice and not available for retrofit at the moment.

Liking that and Serek as a whole (although they’re eye wateringly expensive). That one has a Grabber meets Ric thing going on.

So, to conclude, plywood is fine. In fact, make solid bodies, or even semi acoustics out of whatever you like, just make it well and use decent pickups/hardware.
