  1. Eighteen With A Bullet (Pete Wingfield)
  2. Indeed. Just because he doesn’t play a certain way, doesn’t mean he can’t.
  3. Purple Rain, not only anthemic but also slow enough not to get the crowd all revved up again.
  4. Tiran Porter is so overlooked, great player.
  5. Born Under A Bad Sign (Various, written by Booker T)
  6. Walk Don’t Run (The Ventures)
  7. Another vote for Westone Thunder or an Aria SB. EDIT: Just seen this at The Gallery https://thebassgallery.com/collections/bass/products/westone-thunder-1
  8. Band on the Run (Wings)
  9. Over The Hills And Far Away (LZ)
  10. I don’t own one, but I’ve been tempted by them recently after hearing a Serek SS on a David Byrne live video. Not being able to justify the cost of a Serek, I tried a few short scales at my local GG. The JMJ Mustang is marvellous, a proper vintage sounding and feeling P bass in a smaller package. If I can move my Maruszczyk Jake along, I can see a JMJ Mustang in my future.
  11. Just scrolled up and this thread appeared at exactly the same time as Live Will Find A Way by Yes came on the radio.
  12. Justin Meldal Johnsen and Mikey Way
  13. Time After Time (Cyndi Lauper)
  14. I can’t tell you exactly how long the batteries last, but it’s long enough for me to forget the last time I changed them.
  15. Enter Sandman (Metallica)
  16. Long Train Running (Doobie Bros)
  17. I’ll just leave this here (admittedly the offspring of a Jazz and a ‘Ray).
  18. I’m Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down (Paul Young - again).
  19. Wherever I Lay My Hat (Various)
  20. School’s Out (Alice Cooper).
  21. Walking on the Moon (The Police)
  22. Your Song (Elton John)
  23. Sailing (Rod Stewart)
  24. I think Jimmy Webster, a demonstrator for Gretsch guitars is often cited as the first person to do it. However, I suspect some flamenco guitarists must’ve employed a similar technique in the dim and distant past. EVH certainly brought it to the masses and made it mainstream.
  25. (You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (Beastie Boys)
