  1. Oooffftt! Nice 😍.
  2. You are correct on both counts.
  3. Sahweet! 😍
  4. Where he says it should be 40mm and not 38mm at the nut because of the 19mm spacing at the bridge sounds like rubbish. Fenders and Sadowskys are 38mm with 19mm spacing IIRC, as are many other J types.
  5. I’ve recently started playing guitar a fair bit more (bless me father, for I have sinned) which spurred me onto a bundle of more upgrades for my Casino Coupé, the new Artec pickups sound fabulous and cost less than £30! It’s taken over from my Tele as my go to 6 string.
  6. Bass Direct are selling an almost identical Jake (not chambered) for £1195, https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/MARUSZCZYK_Jake_4P_Fiesta_Red.html save yourself a wad of cash and buy mine instead. 😉
  7. I tried a couple a while back and was hoping to hate them, safe to say I did not, they were pukka.
  8. It won’t sound as good ☹️.
  9. +1 Have you been drinking, Mr T?
  10. WTF? You can’t let this go, surely?
  11. If it were my double neck, I'd swap the necks over and have the fretless on top like @Bassassin's Gordy. YMMV. That handover with @stewblack looks like you're both pulling a massive wishbone 😂.
  12. Northwards trip starts tomorrow, pm me if I need to pack it in the car.
  13. My Jake L has a little neck dive on the knee, but doesn’t move once it’s on a strap. Time for some gratuitous self promotion 😉
  14. That is lovely looking and a subtle deviation from the norm. I also like your comment (isolated and now in bold) just to remind folks that these are great instruments and potential buyers should not to be completely swayed by the odd negative comment.
  15. Nice pair.
  16. I’m intrigued by the notion of them not wanting an upright because of social distancing .
  17. Trip northwards starting Thursday if any potential buyers want to meet up along the M40/M6/A74(M)/A9 corridor (bloody long corridor!).
  18. Very true, but I think I might have either refinished it, or held it back for a later release. There is also a 5 string at Bass Direct with a faded back, but it's way more tastefully done than the 4 string, which looks like it hasn't been sanded properly. But, as you say, I don't have to buy it and I won't.
  19. I’m surprised that this one was let out into the wild so early on in this new incarnation. Also, given that this is B stock, it’s not exactly had a huge amount knocked off the price.
  20. The back of that bass looks like a poorly executed relic 🤮.
  21. Every day's a school day. I never knew that either.
  22. Unless you’re a totally slavish, tribute band, adding your own embellishments is fine and what makes one a musician and should be encouraged IMO ( @Beedster’s a-hole guitar player needed a slap). Even the lines played by any of the original players are often different live anyway. The TP & The Heartbreakers tribute I play in use live versions for our sets rather than the album version (sometimes causes confusion when we forget to coordinate source material 😂). As to the WZ versions, I prefer the original line as it feels more ‘greasy’ and in keeping with the overall feel of the song (which I first heard in the soundtrack for The Colour of Money).
  23. In short - no. I quit music in the 5th year and took motor engineering, which I did find useful for maintaining my early bangers. The reading of the treble clef I learnt at primary school was the most useful musical thing I leant at school.
