  1. I’ve used a Markbass head with a 2x12 cab for rock (and other genres) and it worked for me and others I know who have also used MB stuff. Having the 1x12 combo would give you a home, small practice rig add the 1x12 extension cab and you’ve got a gigging rig. I haven’t used any of the other stuff so I can’t comment on them.
  2. He is class act, despite his self deprecation to the contrary. Gotta love a gear video and I’m impressed by his EA only solution to every gig.
  3. The tone control is very subtle and adds the most modest amount of sheen on the sound; I run mine wide open. I also find MB2 a bit much through headphones sometimes, so I just turn the volume down on the bass as the signal is very hot. I was wondering why you went for a 4 string one but with Renaissance incoming, it now makes sense.
  4. Passive fretless Jazz, active fretless Jazz, upright Warwick DB thingy. 3 different beasts, no excuse needed.
  5. I was wondering about Billy. However, on their '72/'73 tour, pictures show a clean shaven Gibbons. On the other hand, Dusty had a good beard then, so he might give Lee a run for his money.
  6. The latest one is up That B string doesn’t seem to be getting a lot of use, especially as this tune seems to be mostly played within the first 5 frets (“conventional” wisdom says play this mid neck, incorporating the B). Still, another marvellous vid from Lee, it’s his style of playing and his style sounds good to my ears. Side note: is Lee’s beard the longest standing in music? I understand he hasn’t shaved since college.
  7. How’s the lag with Bandwidth (assuming it’s all done at the same time)? It’s a new one on me (as are they all TBH) and it’d be great to be able to get my band doing something together and it seems we’ve discounted Acapella.
  8. Quality service from who appears to be a quality bloke.
  9. He was doing selfies with folks at the LBGS a couple of years back, rather then just getting through them, he seemed to spend a good amount of time chatting with them too. His clinic session was lovely, an man of massive experience sharing those experiences and the stories that went with them, like a kindly grandad chatting with the kids. Top, top fella with an unsurpassed CV.
  10. Photos when it arrives or it never happened 😂
  11. Yamaha BB300 in 💩 brown. Swapped it with a friend for his Westone Thunder 3.
  12. With the growing reputation of Sire, the new Metro Express is going to struggle I reckon. If Sire would sort out that overly, IMO, complicated control plate and put some better looking knobs on it too, it could be curtains for the ME line.
  13. Yes, that’s the correct price. Lots of coverage in this thread
  14. Welcome, you’re amongst friends here, we’re all addicted to bass (and the acquisition of gear).
  15. The Sad knobs look classier. £1k classier? Sad Knobs - new band name.
  16. Those ‘scratches’ are nothing compared to the pics supplied by Andertons; result!
  17. Sahweet! How are those scratches BTW?
  18. No, clean as whistle (to my impaired hearing). I tried using the supplied 4 pole cable to see if it would record onto my Mac version of Garageband - it would not. Time to reload said software onto the iPad again.
