  1. And because it's in the rules.
  2. This is a conundrum, especially in our band where certain members are pro, some are semi pro and others are technically amateurs. My band had a rehearsal and then live-streamed a gig from the drummer's garden at the weekend. He consulted with neighbours and put flyers round locally. It was a stripped back, acoustic (but amplified) type affair. I was very conscious of the volume, but it seemed to go OK in terms of not annoying the residents (at least not too much, there are always those who will not like it, but it was mid-afternoon and only for a couple of hours, so nothing for environmental officers to get involved in).
  3. EB flatwound Cobalts have purple winding similar to that video.
  4. 14, Kim Gordon was my undoing.
  5. I was obviously so used to seeing it, it slipped in unnoticed for quite some time, either that, or my sleep deprived brain isn’t firing as it should.
  6. Hold the phone and enough about Macari’s possibly smelly fuzz boxes (ooh, err)! When did @Happy Jack’s Spider-Man avatar make a return?
  7. Basschat offices are out of bog roll again then. 😂
  8. You could spend £1500... At least that’s what I think Mr Macari says.
  9. Updated with MXR M87 and flat patch leads...
  10. Thanks for making me aware of these. Bought and fitted, very neat and tidy.
  11. That really is the end of an era. It was more of a tourist attraction (trap) in recent years, but I remember a pro accordionist friend of my parents talking about Lou Macari when I was a kid, back before Denmark St and the environs became a place to be regarded as a tourist and treated accordingly.
  12. The whole “professional” thing is an absolute can of worms. What if a band has 4 semi-pro/amateur members and 1 professional member? What if a bunch of pro musos do a free gig (for the exposure 😉), is that still a pro gig? It’s all as clear as mud and only as effective as the enforcement applied.
  13. Ooh, there was a thread and and link about this very subject not so long ago. I can’t remember the company that was suggested as a supply though. Hang on yes I can, it’s this bunch http://www.kilointernational.com EDIT: Ah, whilst typing @ped has beaten me to it.
  14. This ^^^^ The shared piece is poorly written, decidedly indicative of its geographic origin and a tired old joke.
  15. That sounds like a good description of a Delano pickups me. I have J and MM types Delanos in 2 different basses (HEM2s IIRC), they are very articulate and take bass boost very well without becoming muddy. The Big Singles/Splits have a great 'rudeness' about them when you dig in and they look fab IMO. Certainly not quiet and retiring pickups.
  16. That’s a very skinny nut width.
  17. If ever.
  18. What strings are these that you wanted to dislike @stewblack?
  19. That looks quality to me. I’m not a fan of masses of controls (Sire are a huge offender in this regard) and this sits nicely with my personal aesthetic. 👏👏👏
  20. Well that was fun. Definitely want to keep gigging on the strength of that. Playing at home is fine, but you don’t get that interaction or the need to make sure you’re right on your game all of the time (there were several lack of game fitness slip ups).
  21. Excuse me, Miss? Whaddya mean, "Miss?" I'm sorry, I have a cold.
  22. This ^^^ I recently bought an MXR M87 compressor and I'm using it at the end of my signal chain (this is what happens in recordings, so why not not on your board?). My EBS chorus (even with the wet/dry trim pot turned down as far as it'll go) gives a noticeable jump in output as does the octave, but not as much, so the M87 keeps that under control nicely. I have a 'limiter' on my amp, but at 3:1 it's very soft.
  23. This PM from our drummer’s back garden. 15:30-16:30 livestream on FB. 😬
