I received a card and text, which is all I really want (a visit just isn’t feasible at the moment). She’s looking pretty spry for 38! I’m guessing she was about 18 months here.

My MXR M87 arrived today. I’ve put it through it’s paces with a few basses, with both headphones and small amp (I’m at home and there are limits). It’s interesting to see the difference in output of two basses that, to my ears, sounded the same level (the VU is super useful). The M87 sorted out the levels of all three, even bringing a particularly hot, active piezo under control without killing the natural sound and needing to use the active pad on the amp. It’s certainly less squashy than the limiter circuit on the amp (although it can be if you want). I’m impressed and this will now be on all the time. Voted.

My PJB rig (Flightcase + 6x5 powered cab) punches to the back of a fair sized establishment at only half way up (I realise these things are not necessarily linear) and I’ve never felt I need more.

The 80s was a great decade IMO. Yeah, there was some dross, but there was also crap in to 60s and 70s and the 90s is where, for the most part, music went to die (obviously IMO and YMMV). My 80s band do 4 of those in our set and you'll no doubt cover the rest as you go through the decade.

You say delusional (nice man that you are), I say chancers (free lead, big whoop). Having dealt with Andertons in the past, this is disappointing behaviour and makes me glad I didn’t order my recent pedal purchase from them (their last one and might have had ‘in store’ use).

That‘s appalling (looks like it’s had an argument with a studded leather jacket!) and needs to be £150 off. That’s what I got for just a small ding on my old Ric from GG. This is the kind of behaviour that gets retailers a bad reputation.

I’ve like the look of these and the Tech21 Bassfly that is its inspiration. I look forward to reading your review.

I’m thinking of getting one myself, as I’m probably removing my preamp/DI pedal from my board to make room for an incoming compressor, but I still want a pedalboard DI option. From a brief search our own @Dood has/had one.

When I refinished a couple of necks some years ago, I used Danish Oil in this way. IIRC, I put on three coats in total, using super fine, wire wool after each coat. Both necks turned out really nicely.

It’s such a great learning experience from that perspective, when mastering, cutting the 200k range just cleaning the track up (something I saw on a YT tutorial that I must find again) was an eye opener. A friend of mine runs a FOH company, does his own home recordings and is a pretty awesome songwriter and guitarist, and I sent my track to him to critique. It was he who suggested some particular compression settings for the bass (I’d already added some to all the tracks anyway) and it just popped. We discussed the result and the way he explained it all suddenly made sense, ergo GAS! 😂

Totally understandable and not unreasonable IMO. During lockdown, I’ve been doing some home recording, which in itself meant I had to buy some new kit (a Focusrite Solo). As part of the mixing and mastering process, I have a whole new appreciation for compression, which means that, some time next week, I’ll be ordering a compressor for my pedalboard.

I think it's hard to really judge accurately with YouTube due to the compression they use, but if you prefer the Barts in that side by side comparison, then perhaps leave those in. However, I thought you wanted something that has the ability to "get nasty".

That looks way better than the Fender IMO.
