  1. Sixteen Tons - Tennessee Ernie Ford
  2. It was hearing one being played on Saturday Night Live that sent me down the short scale rabbit hole. I’d like a Midwestern, but think I’d prefer a Wilcock Mullarkey (I played one, it was glorious).
  3. I went to school at Wilson’s, before it moved, now Camberwell School of Art.
  4. 50 Ways To Love Your Lever - P Simon
  5. Ask them to buy you a Wilcock or a Serek, they’ll pipe down pretty sharpish
  6. I don’t know about that, but Kenneth Branagh and Emma Thompson lived there, when they were a couple. My first wife lived in East Dulwich (off of East Dulwich Grove) as did two of my school chums (off Dog Kennel Hill). I had my very first pint in the Lord Palmerston on Lordship Lane and was a regular in The Forester’s.
  7. If you don’t want music and want a blether, go to a ‘Spoons; FFS! Punters, eh?
  8. A ways off at the moment, but we’re supporting local heroes, The Owls on St Andrew’s night or, as it is being named by the the organisers, St SKAndrew’s Night (which I think is quite clever, even if they’ve missed the apostrophe 🤦🏻).
  9. Watched One Love last night. Whilst I think there was some woeful miscasting, having Aston Barrett Jr play his dad was inspired.
  10. You could stick a very thick pick in the neck pocket gap of my old '63 P, still sounded awesome.
  11. Bad Dog No Biscuit - Daron Norwood
  12. Camberwell Grove, there’s posh! I remember Vestry Road, but Nandine’s is after my time.
  13. Drank Like Hank - Brothers Osborne
  14. Jesus Just Left Chicago - ZZ Top
  15. Pink Cadillac - Loose Windscreen
  16. I'm an ex-South Londoner. Born and raised in Camberwell. Dulwich Park was a regular haunt and my school's playing grounds were there too.
  17. Gone Fishing - Bing Crosby
  18. The tone at 1:51 is very Geddy Lee, minus his distortion. 👍
  19. Copperhead Road - Steve Earle
  20. At least ten years old on my Rob Allen. They are the same strings (black nylon, LaBellas) that it came with when I bought it 2nd hand.
  21. Smoke! Smoke! Smoke! (That Cigarette) - Tex Williams
  22. Bands play Mustang Sally because it was in The Commitments. They play Sweet Home Alabama because that was in a film too. Alright Now was in a chewing gum ad. Films and TV have been responsible for many cover band staples. I think the reason these covers mostly suck is down to a, “That’ll do,” attitude.
  23. Hi Heel Sneakers - Loads of folk
