  1. Recent one of me at a charity event, rocking my best 1980s/steampunk look.
  2. Finally, a really big hitter. No offence to Mr Beggs, I think he's great too, but this a big, big bass name (although, to be fair, Lady Ez won't know who he is, but knows of Beggsy). Shame that JP's stuff really isn't my bag. Hey you can't have it all ways (unless it's Pino of course ).

Any chance you could share a pic/diagram of those VTDI settings?
  4. As you’re a new member, you might not be aware of one of our rules... No photos, didn’t happen 😉.
  5. Perhaps they’re waiting to see if any big name draws are actually confirmed before they part with their cash? 😂
  6. I still have a soft spot for the look of the Ashdown Evo heads. The CTMs aren’t bad either.
  7. He was a top bloke too (plays the skinny stringed thing too).
  8. Surely you have to be pretty active to play metal (all that thrashing, etc)? 😉 I’ll get my coat.
  9. Sadly, very much this. I did a one off gig recently, with a band I only knew of a couple of the people previously, where we got together for a run through the day before. The drummer (who I didn’t know) and I arrived first. When setting up, he asked if my rig was a Phil Jones (it is) and then asked about my basses. This seemed unusual, but pleasing. Then I found out he’s primarily a bass player; I should’ve known.
  10. One wonders which bass guitar specific exhibitors (outside of amplification) will actually be there? It is starting to look LBGS is going to be the poor cousin to its guitar relative. ☹️
  11. OK, it’s built by John Cruz, but FFS, it’s a P bass at nearly £12k! I don’t think so.
  12. I really like Paul Gilbert, but he isn’t a bass player ☹️. Now if it was Billy Sheehan...
  13. Wowsers! As @Christine said, the correct finish decision has been made here.
  14. Sounds like a good idea. However, you should be aware that the members of Basschat are all enablers 😂.
  15. ^^^This. However, they do provide a nice, big thumbrest.
  16. Oh, yeah, that looks killer. A nod towards the Tbird and Explorer, but nothing more. I like it.
  17. You might like to try a Yamaha BB235 or an Ibanez SR370, as they are in the same price bracket and both companies make very nice instruments at all their various price points. However, it’s hard to go wrong with a Squier Classic Vibe, as they’re a fine bit of kit that is easily upgraded with superior hardware should you feel the need.
  18. That’s good news, Silvia, thanks. However, the organisers only ever seem to pull their collective finger out when prompted; all very reactionary. Not what I would call promoting the event.
  19. It is indeed, very poor. I wouldn't be surprised if some exhibitors pull out unless something is done quickly.
  20. Plenty of guitarists turned bass players here. Welcome to low end. Check out the for sale section here, you should be able to put a nice little rig together for about £500, Markbass stuff isn’t a bad place to start and there seems to be a bit available at the moment.
