Top video, @Dosi Y'Anarchy. I think I might have to get one of those in place of my VTDI.
  2. That sounds like a recipe for rust! 😂
  3. Yeah, this really sucks the big, hairy meatball. Plus, the landlords, etc who are impossible to get hold of outside of the gig itself for more bookings. On the night, they're all, "Yeah, really great, give me a call in week for some more dates," and then tumbleweed. However, I do like playing live, it just needs roadies and an agent.
  4. Fabulous looking beast, especially the fretboard and the signature on the headstock is a nice touch too. I have no doubt that you’ll be enjoying that for many years to come. Out of idle interest, what weight did come in at?
  5. Yes I would believe it, I have 2 chambered basses that fit that description (it's mad what luthiers can do and still maintain balance). Yep, I have a number of basses and guitars that seem to put out the wrong notes, I'm thinking of sending them back to the shop.
  6. This one from Next isn't too bad https://www.next.co.uk/style/st426157#421238
  7. I'd be a bit worried about the weight of that, it's taking three of them to hold it up and the neck dive looks hideous. 🤣
  8. Oi! Pack that porn in right now! A truly lovely thing, I do love surf and sea foam green. GLWTS.
  9. A well played tuba is a marvellous thing (I heard some cracking playing on a recent holiday). Welcome to the land of wood, wire and magnets, oh and Basschat.
  10. I hope you’ll share your findings with us as I’m quite taken with the idea of fitting one to my P type.
  11. I’ve played that Jake too and it is, as you say, very nice indeed. I might be mis-remembering, I think it had Haussell pickups (nicely rounded edges). I certainly ordered my off the peg Jake after playing that one based on the feel. Mine has a Maruszczyk pickup in it and it sounds just as a P should.

Guitar Guitar informed me that they don’t have any on order currently ☹️.
  13. YUM! Are they Big Singles @Merton?
  14. They don’t. I’m not one of the ‘bass/lead/amp’ brigade (of which there are many), but I’ve never had more pedals than any guitarist I’ve worked with. However, to be fair, when I last played guitar seriously, I was quite minimalist with my pedal board. Maybe my lack of bass fx (pre-amp, octaver, chorus) is a hangover from then.
  15. I’ve had 4 sets over the past few years and I’ve not had this.
  16. I removed mine, but this a much nicer and simpler fix. 👏👏👏
  17. Probably worth posting the same ad here https://www.guitarchat.co.uk/forum/24-musicians-wanted/
  18. Yes indeed. It makes a change and proves it can be done.
  19. I couldn't spot myself (or am I being subconsciously blind?).
  20. Pickup height may be a factor, but it’s quite likely that the string height in the D & G is a bit low and they don’t have the room to vibrate before being choked off by the fingerboard. You’ll sacrifice a bit of ‘mwah’ by raising the string height, but they should sing more clearly.
  21. They do indeed. My Maruszczyk Elwood Ls are crazy light and superbly balanced (33” scale, customs).
  22. Happiness is: picking up your custom built basses after having played an off the shelf bass for a while and realising how right you got it.

Good work sir! What are the basses in question?
