  1. It is and I’ve used it for some recording onto my iPad with not terrible results.
  2. I’ve just been listening to CD1 of Peter Gabriel’s Secret World live, whilst mowing the lawn. Tony Levin’s tone, both on the NS EUB and MM 5 string, is thunderous and fantastic.
  3. The cage is open but the beast is asleep.
  4. Now that bridge is an improvement. I never really had an issue with the old one, a pain to set, but once done, no real dramas. However, the new one looks the biz. Who says the Hall dynasty don’t listen? 5 stringers, new bridges, what’ll be next?
  5. Hmm, I realised I posted incorrectly earlier, now edited.
  6. Tele and Gretsch singlecut hollowbody. EDIT: Note to self, read the previous posts correctly! My weapon of choice would be the above, if cash allowed. My actual weapons are: Squier Telecaster (very customised, only the neck, tuners, and p/g remain). Epiphone Casino Coupé with added Bigsby. Epiphone EJ200c Simon & Patrick Rosewood Pro
  7. Seconded, sorry to hear you've been in the wars @Happy Jack. I hope you're well on the mend and that @Silvia Bluejay is OK.
  8. Ah, at last, bass playing. Lee tells a great anecdote but his jokes (or at least his telling of them) is not so hot. Sussudio is a proper workout when you’ve had 4 days off!
  9. Less talk, more getting that new p/g fitted!
  10. I tried recording something, but Garageband for iOS is an absolute piece of 💩!
  11. Straight in line. Not really, but I can try some ideas.
  12. Stuck my pedal board in front of mine yesterday; glorious! That Sadowsky SBP2 really is the bee’s mid leg joint.
  13. Smoke On The Water must’ve been on it.
  14. Seems fair.
  15. Replacing a humongous 1x15 + 4x10 rig with something smaller is always going to present tonal variances/problems. The amount of air being moved by that trace rig and the height at which it is moved compared to the MB will always be a skewed contest, even before you get into amp and speaker voicing. As has been mentioned, sorting the VLE & VPF settings and adding some other form of EQ manipulation may help (as the TE has a graphic, I’d add a graphic EQ pedal) but it may transpire that MB speaker voicing isn’t for you. As to what you could try as an alternative brand, I’m afraid I can’t help you there as I’ve only played three rigs live: Ashdown ABM 2x10 combo + 2x10 cab (nice, bit scooped, heavy and cumbersome despite neodymium drivers); MB LM2 + Schroeder 2x12 (great ‘in the mix’ rig, very mid centric, somewhat aggressive); Phil Jones Flightcase + PJB powered cab (10x5 total) - clean, accurate, super light. The nicest stuff I’ve heard in a shop has been Aguilar, but that’s not a proper test IMO. EDIT: I’ve played Rhythm Stick for years and it took a lot of practice to get up to speed accurately. The other day I thought I’d play it with a pick, just for laughs. Damn! I should’ve tried it years ago and saved my, at the time, aching hand. 😂
  16. Dude! 😂
  17. I’ve used a Markbass head with a 2x12 cab for rock (and other genres) and it worked for me and others I know who have also used MB stuff. Having the 1x12 combo would give you a home, small practice rig add the 1x12 extension cab and you’ve got a gigging rig. I haven’t used any of the other stuff so I can’t comment on them.
  18. He is class act, despite his self deprecation to the contrary. Gotta love a gear video and I’m impressed by his EA only solution to every gig.
  19. You are correct, sir.
  20. The tone control is very subtle and adds the most modest amount of sheen on the sound; I run mine wide open. I also find MB2 a bit much through headphones sometimes, so I just turn the volume down on the bass as the signal is very hot. I was wondering why you went for a 4 string one but with Renaissance incoming, it now makes sense.
