  1. I prefer to be on the drummer's hi-hat side, however, I'm often just going where I can fit in.
  2. 👏👏👏 Enjoy your awesome, birthday build.
  3. Whoever bought the Hexabuzz that was for sale here recently has superb timing, as there may well be an element of 'pre-retirement' collectability in the offing.

    Geddy Lee pedal

This is exactly what I’m interested in. Unfortunately, all the demos seem to be just Geddy fests, without really investigating its other potential.

    Geddy Lee pedal

I’m a big 80s Rush fan, but as much as I’m intrigued by this pedal, I won’t be looking for Geddy’s tone, as something that suits me. It’ll certainly have to offer more than my VTDI for me to change (which, on paper at least, it seems to do).
  6. I’ve previously stated my one album that is always there, but there are others that are on my very underpopulated iPhone or are listened to: Ah Via Musicom - Eric Johnson To The Bone - Steven Wilson Continuum - John Mayer Rush’s 1980s output Us - Peter Gabriel
  7. His work with Chickenfoot has him much higher in the mix and stretching out a bit more. He is a quality player and a good singer too.
  8. Various basses over the years (I only still have one of these, well technically 2, as one is still awaiting a buyer).
  9. You're playing a Roscoe Beck V, why wouldn't you be happy?
  10. First of all, give up? Noooo! Say it ain't so 😥 However, I'm sure you have your reasons (still sad though). Secondly, these are great cabs that were born to be played live. The voicing sits really well in the mix, allowing you to be heard, without impinging on the sonic space of others in the band. GLWTS.
  11. Ed Friedland giving one a go. $40 seems a lot.
  12. That split coil sound is very pleasing indeed (the normal setting isn't bad either).
  13. Good old PTFE. If you can't fix something with PTFE, duct tape, Araldite or WD40, it's probably very broken.
  14. Yeah, @bubinga5 is right, they do 3/8" and 1/2" fittings. If they are the wrong size and you can't return them, you could try wrapping some masking tape around the bushing to make it fit snugly. EDIT: You beat me to it.
  15. Kossoff, because of my age at the time and that he seemed to have got his life back on track. More recently, Bowie's death really rattled me when I found out and I'm not a massive fanboy or anything, I suppose it's because he had just always been there and it came seemingly out of the blue.
  16. Why are you playing bass with your testicles? 😂
  17. I would sometimes get a sore index, plucking finger even though I use alternate, two fingered plucking (I'm actually probably using my index finger more). However, since moving to EB cobalt flatwounds, this seems to be a thing of the past.
  18. I hold my .73mm quite close to the edge (upside down-ish) so very little flex for me. However, I don't think it matters what you use as your brain should sort it out - eventually. Vive la difference!
