  1. That is stunning. I think Mrs Ez should be happy I’m right handed, especially given its location relative to me.
  2. I agree with the lessons suggestion. I also think that, from your gear list, the amp is what sticks out as the obvious upgrade area. However, all that being said, I have found that what normally pushes my playing along is playing itself and whatever it takes to inspire me to play more, be that lessons, gear, a new band/dep, whatever. Think about what will make you want to devote more time to playing (constructively) and spend your wonga accordingly.
  3. Those Nordy Big Singles do have a lovely tone. Enjoy.
  4. Indeed. Always entertaining and awe inspiring. 👏👏👏
  5. OK, it was only for this song, but it's De La and Pino!
  6. Perhaps some rock climbing chalk will sort you out.
  7. I vaguely remember this being for sale at The Gallery many years ago.
  8. That was my very first thought.
  9. You could try adding a spacer, such as a washer, behind the adjustment nut to give you more tension. I had a Fender Roscoe Beck that needed this, one washer sorted it nicely.
  10. I’ve always been a DiMarzio fan for any pickup, they always sound great and their customer support is outstanding. However, my more recent basses have Delanos fitted and Reinhard at Delano goes above and beyond any service I’ve received from any other company. I’m using HE M2s in both my JJ and MM style basses as I love how clear and articulate they sound, but they take overdrive really well. Other styles are available of course.
  11. The late 60s and early 70s certainly gave us some great players and I’d add Davey Johnstone to make up an incredible threesome from that era.
  12. I've done this on occasion, I've even just plugged an active bass straight into one. Given that a powered speaker is just effectively a combo without a conventional preamp, I can't think of any pitfalls. If you can get the tone you want from the BDDI, why bother having another EQ section in the way.
  13. I wonder if it has any comfort contouring on the rear? Either way, does look rather nice.
  14. You shouldn't have admitted to that, now I'll want to try out the new build! TBH, I'm even closer, I'm in Riddlesdown.
  15. Now that looks the business! Having the bridge on makes it look far more balanced than just seeing the empty routs.
  16. That depends on your age and musical preferences surely. I was a JW fan long before I discovered The Eagles.
  17. Sting; Eric Clapton; Peter Gabriel; Ozzy (at a pinch); Richard Thompson.
  18. I’m a bit of a Maruszczyk fan boy (love my Elwood L fretless) so I’m always going to give them the thumbs up. Here’s a selection from the shop, but with the custom options via the configurator, the World’s your oyster. https://www.public-peace.de/bass-guitars/fretless-basses
  19. Cracking gig last night. We set up at the opposite end of the bar than we have previously and it was an entirely different vibe. Thanks to some small partitions, the audience were far back enough (most didn't think to venture beyond the low partitions, although some did) to get a good view, the best sound and have unhindered access to the bar itself (which I'm sure the landlord and lady loved; kerching!). I received some really nice comments from a drummer in the audience about my fretless tone (be still my beating heart) and it was an enjoyable and civilised evening (no drunken dancing over pedalboards or wading through spilt beer). Looking forward to playing there again just before NYE.
  20. I suspect @eude is fairly wetting himself with excitement with these latest developments and photos. Top work here, as ever, and another entertaining thread. 👏
  21. I love a bit of Joe. He’s as mad as a fish, but everyday is made a little better for hearing one of his songs. Turn To Stone is probably my favourite. Daryl’s show is always a treat too.
  22. Rio by Duran Duran is good fun. Kate Bush’s Babooshka, although not fast, has some interesting note choices.
  23. My guess would be: vol, blend, bass, mid, treble and the two switches for series/parallel/single modes.
