Well done, Sir. We do this in my 80s band. I’ve taken to playing it with a pick recently, especially as I’m trying to play everything on my fretless (it works quite well sonically). Madge could’ve done us a favour and recorded it in G though, I find it a bit stretchy in F.

I think my Maruszczyk Elwood L fretless. It’s my go to and is amazingly versatile.

There was a discussion about this on the Maruszczyk thread. It seems that there’s a Nissan car colour that is pretty much there or there abouts to burgundy mist.

I turned it up because the intro seemed quiet - huge mistake! My reaction to this is the same as when I first heard John Entwistle’s bass soloed on The Real Me, “Yikes! How much distortion?” Sounds horrible isolated but great in the mix.

Is anyone using a Spectracomp with a shared (non isolated) power supply? If you are, are your getting extraneous noise from your SC (I've been told this can happen)?

Good work, you’ve made a decision that, given your earlier posts, will be the right one for you. You’ve done some ‘due diligence’ in looking at other basses and gleaning some alternative opinions, rather than just jumping in straight away with both feet first and then put your money down on the preferred option. If in the end it doesn’t float your boat the way that you’d hoped, you can always sell it (or just return it if it’s an immediate disappointment) and regard any losses as market research or rental costs. Pics when it arrives please, sound samples if possible.

I like to give flat a wipe down with a cloth before fitting. My current Ernie Ball Cobalts weren't too grubby, but my old LaBellas were grim.

If the credit card allows, why not order both at the same time and then send back the one you like the least under distance selling rules? Failing that, music shops are reopening next week if you’re up to a visit.

Some folks here are happy with just one bass, whilst others have collections that will leave you wide eyed with wonder (it certainly works on me). For my part, I have 4 basses, one Rob Allen MB2 and three Maruszczyks (a P type, a J type and a fretless MM type). This year I made a conscious decision to play predominantly fretless and my Maruszczyk fretless has been my main stay, go to bass since then. As mentioned above, BC is a dangerous place for Gear Acquisition Syndrome (GAS) - BEWARE! 😂

Good fun and well played again. However, this time I only guessed 2 (90 & 96). This is probably down to my long held view that the 90s was where music went to die (certainly post 91 anyway), YMMV.
