  1. A small edit above and it’s probably almost as accurate.
  2. Look Shark - Joe Jackson
  3. Cod Only Knows - The Beach Boys
  4. This post makes me sad. I met the OP a few years ago, when he tried out my Rob Allen MB2; lovely chap. Sad news indeed.
  5. Breadfan - Budgie
  6. Coincidentally, this appeared in my Bass Gear Magazine newsletter, this evening. I haven’t read it yet, so I have no comments/opinion on the contents. https://www.bassgearmag.com/fender-and-bass-sensation-blu-detiger-unveil-signature-masterfully-designed-for-her-unique-sonic-identity/
  7. Let’s Go To The Pub - Bowling For Soup
  8. I have a Phil Jones Flightcase that I use with a PB300 powered cab for gigs. I play mainly bass guitar, but I also play an EUB at home and it suits both well (the EUB needs some eq changes from my usual flat settings, but no hardship). One of PJ’s more famous users is Kyle Eastwood and he plays both EB and DB through his PJ rig.
  9. As ever, we are in accord. TBH St Vincent’s music isn’t really my thing, but I can see why others like her stuff and she good taste in bass players. EB creating a signature guitar for her is smart marketing, as is any company creating a signature instrument for someone popular/contemporary, rather than someone from the old guard.
  10. I realised this quite some time ago, when looking at the EBMM range of signature guitars, I had to look up the likes of St Vincent and James Valentine and I see that the range now has even more folks I’m not acquainted with.
  11. The album he did with re-recordings of his early hits, with guitarists and others who were influenced by him in their youth, is quite good. Rock Island Line with Rory Gallagher and Diggin’ My Potatoes with Brian May, stick in my mind.
  12. Er, I think you’re using them wrong, they’re meant to go on the headstock. Musical prompts on stands, or the floor, or a monitor, wherever, are fine, provided they don’t become the total focus of those using them. I think they should be aides de memoir, rather than a word by word (note by note) guide.
  13. It does seem that there were some batches that had blemishes on them straight out of the pack. Out of the umpteen sets that I have had, I’ve only ever had one string with a blemish and that was in a free set. Others were not so lucky. I’ve bought 2 sets in the last 12 months, no issues and certainly nothing on the older sets.
  14. First one, obviously - Yamaha BB300. First Fender - a US made Jazz. ’63 P, first and only vintage bass. JMJ Mustang, first shorty and my current go to. NS WAV, first upright of any description.
  15. A BiSonic would look (and no doubt sound) awesome on that.
  16. Not the first time we’ve seen this type of thing on BC either.
  17. Ulna The Lonely - Elvis P
  18. Click bait always works, it’s just how much willpower the reader possesses to not actually hit the link. Plainly, @Reggaebass and myself have little of that.
  19. Move On Up - Curtis Mayfield
  20. I Drove All Night - Roy Orbison
  21. Joe using one live.
  22. I Can’t Drive 55 - Sammy Hagar
  23. We Are The Champions - Queen
  24. The Bet’s Too Big Without You - The Police
