    OLP MM22

    Score! Nice looker.
  2. I’ve had issues with sticky lacquer with Fender, Gibson and PRS. One thing I was advised to do was to use some auto polish (Autoglym), which I did with the PRS but you have to keep applying it as it wears away. I also did this with Gibson, but eventually sold both because it was a pain. When I bought a Roadworn P, it had the same issue. However, as it was already treated to look older, I didn’t hesitate to strip the lacquer off with Nitromors and then seal the neck with Danish Oil. It was a great, drag free finish.
  3. NAMM footage of the beast...
  4. It does look the business with the covers on, if they don’t interfere with your playing style, go for it. These basses do look rather splendid, although I’d reduce the size of the headstock if I had one, and the history of it’s development is really engaging. BT had another P supplied by Barry of the Bass Centre after the theft of his ‘salmon pink’ one which he apparently never liked as much. I owned this bass (a white ‘63 P) for a while and it was brilliant. If this recreation of BT’s original plays and sounds better than that ‘63 (which is the point of its creation surely) it must be something very special indeed, especially at the price point. Congrats on your purchase.
  5. One month down, only eleven to go 😬
  6. NICE! Quality service from both Lakland and La Bella too.

    Pino

You could have a custom build Maruszczyk Jake in Pino spec for £1060.
  8. Killer pickups. If it didn’t mean having to have my J type routed for these to fit, I’d be all over them. GLWTS, the lucky buyer won’t be disappointed.
  9. I prefer the charcoal because it’s warmer looking and different. I had a Sandberg in blackburst and got bored with the look fairly quickly. YMMV.
  10. Now that’s how it’s done, quality resource. I’ll go away and hide now, suitably abashed.
  11. I think this is the video I used as a guide I hope these help @Gunsfreddy2003
  12. I found this. It’s tabbed out for 5 string and is a bit scruffy, for which I apologise.
  13. I did have something IIRC, that, plus a video on YT, is how I how I learnt it. Leave it with me, I’ll have a hunt around my old charts and see if I still have it. Watch this space.
  14. I saw BV's master class and his clinic with Scott at the last LBGS, what an inspiration. Fortunately, my pick chops are regularly exercised from playing guitar, so it was easy to experiment with playing songs I normally play with my fingers (although I had to get thinner picks for bass than I use with guitar for the right sound, 0.73mm à la BV). I'm so glad I tried it, I now play a fair amount of my band's song with a pick as they just sound better with it.
  15. I thought tonight’s guitar episode was rather good.
  16. I bought my Delano MM from Bass Direct. Also, one of own number is a dealer it seems.
  17. Not just me then.
  18. Learning some new tunes for a new project has had me listening to Jackson Browne’s, The Pretender. Bob Glaub’s fills are beautiful (yes it’s BG, not Lee Sklar, as sometimes credited for that track).
  19. That bad boy is dangerous, I racked up a £2.5k build without trying.
  20. For something different, a Rob Allen. https://www.roballenguitars.com/
  21. Contrasting central strip giving it a neck through look using some of that purple heart and some maple?
  22. ^ Loving the purple Dingwall.
  23. E-C tuning, where have you been all this time? Loving it!

      CameronJ

It is fun isn’t it? My first 5 string was tuned E-C!

      alyctes

I like, but haven't really got a use for it.  I find B-G tuning means I can play higher up the neck instead.  I prefer the sound up there anyway :)

    Geddy Lee pedal

Adding a DI box with an XLR and a parallel jack output would solve the lack output options.
