Tele rebuild

It does work extremely well, I'm rather pleased with it.
2. Exactly the rig I run, great sound that has garnered enthusiastic comments from drummer, guitarist and audiences alike. Someone will get themselves a very nice rig for very reasonable money here IMO. GLWTS.
3.
When elegant, high-end amp/headphone amp facias have two identical switches, one for Power On/Off and one for Compression On/off, positioned one above the other, on the same side of the facia, and identified by tiny wording. Step forward the otherwise totally marvellous PJB Briefcase and Bass Buddy.
Indeed. The positioning of the on/off switches on my PB300 and Flightcase are both halfway down the back making access 'interesting' when up against a wall. Also, the line in and tuner out jacks are hard to read from above on the PB300 as they're under said power switch. Rickenbacker mute screws - stuck into my hand when using a pick, I eventually had to take the bridge apart and remove the whole mute assembly. As has been said, First World problems.
4.
No.1 rule for bass players = Don't make definitive statements about anything, anything at all. Life is contingent.
But then who will flame me mercilessly on bass forums? More playing, less reading about it on the net. EDIT: Must take own advice

6. If your looking for cheap, the Behringer Analog Echo is pretty good sound-wise. Back when I was playing a lot of guitar, I had a Line6 DL4, a fantastic bit of kit.
7. Sorry that you've been forced into the position of having to sell. Having to sell has never been forced on me, but I have often suffered from seller's remorse.
8. A great read with an almost, but not quite, happy ending. It goes to show that if law enforcement agencies had more money, time and resources they'd be able to do the footwork that BB did. I look forward to a final, positive resolution to the tale.
9.
she has a fantastic ass though.
In addition to being one.
10.
Adrian emailed me this evening to let me know that this is now ready and will be on its way this week. Ordered on 21st Nov so much like Bearfist's it has turned around much quicker. Can't wait to get my hands on it.
A fabulous looking thing; congrats. I saw this on FB as well and it had me reconsidering my colour choice for my upcoming build. I must remain strong and stick to my guns (my homebrew Telecaster has this colour scheme already).
11. Just found this, DR Hi-Beams vs Cobalts on a Ricky. Playing starts @ 0:36 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpoJNOZwiPA
12. Nice comparison here between DR Hi Beams and EB Cobalts on a Ricky. Playing starts at 0:36 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpoJNOZwiPA
13.
It's just that my P fills up all the low end space, and lets the guitars sit nicely on top. I find the rick occupies a similar space to the guitars, which works well for some of our noisier songs, but Im wanting to pad out the low end more for others.
I'd lower the height of the bridge pickup or just back it off a bit using the volume control and see how you fare with that.
14. What is it that isn't sitting nicely? I've used my 4003s with my 80s covers band, a blues gig and a Pink Floyd gig and it seems fine (a little push in the mids on the amp's EQ and the neck p/up just backed off ever so slightly).
15.
I don't know all the details, but i think there's plenty of fretless on Bad Company records, too.
The first album and Straight Shooter both feature a lot of fretless, it could be that the albums were played on fretless in their entirety, Boz was very subtle in his approach to fretless.
16.
These ones? https://www.ernieball.com/guitar-strings/bass-strings/slinky-flatwound-electric-bass-strings#P02812 They look pretty good!
The very same. Quite expensive but worth every penny IMO. There is a whole thread on them somewhere.
17. Go a for a set of EB Cobalts, best of both worlds.
18. I tuned in and out and because of this it did rather seem that I was watching last year's show: Seasick Steve (I do like him, however); Ruby Turner; Gregory Porter; Boogie Woogie. The only thing that marked it not as a repeat was Dave Swift's choice of bass, an Ibanez BTB 6 stringer this time, if I'm not mistaken.
19. I thought I had just one, I was wrong: Phil Jones Cub Phil Jones Flightcase Phil Jones Bass Buddy (although for sale at the mo) Fender Super Champ X2 (OK, a guitar amp) And technically speaking my Phil Jones PB300 is an amp, as it is a powered cab. So much for just one, eh?
20. I know the overly loud guitarist scenario all too well, keyboard players have a similar tendency too, but they can be controlled by whomever is riding the desk (assuming they DI). My current band has had two guitarists and both of them have had to be told to turn up! A nice position to be in. +1 to raised amps.
21. I had them defret my old MM SUB, quality work. It must be remembered that Martin's primary concern is building custom Sei basses which are of the highest quality.
22. I find the look of double necked instruments inherently cool (I'd love a Gibbo 1275). However, as been alluded to previously, I have no interest in making my osteopath fabulously wealthy.
