  1. True, but this applies to boosting anywhere, on bass, a pedal or amp. If a particular frequency isn’t there you can’t boost it. However, the frequencies are there, or at least a band of them, they may not just be as prominent as other frequencies, thus the ability to boost (or cut) from anywhere in the chain. At least that’s how I understand it. It’s like trying to process a photograph where certain blacks or whites are blown or blacked out, there’s no info there to manipulate. Fortunately, the likelihood of the total absence of any bandwidth is very unlikely.
  2. Truckin' - Grateful Dead
  3. Tarzan Boy - Baltimora
  4. We have a similarly named tradesperson locally too.
  5. Shock the Monkey - Peter Gabriel
  6. Probably best to go with one of these…
  7. Bad Monkey - Richard Thompson
  8. Interesting, hopefully someone will have tried this as the concept intrigues me too.
  9. My picks are the classic (teardrop?) shape, but I don’t use the pointy part. I use one of the more rounded corners. I picked (no pun intended) that technique up from Robben Ford (a guitarist yes, but what a guitarist!).
  10. Mine too, confirmed by the LED readout on my compressor.
  11. One and a spare in the bag. I keep my gamer tucked under the pickguard. I haven’t lost a pick for decades.
  12. Another 0.73 user. When playing guitar, I always used/use a thicker pick, but bass seems to want thinner. I landed on the 0.73 via pick maestro, Bobby Vega.
  13. You are correct.
  14. Someone I know said that the line up is really High Flying Birds plus Liam.
  15. The Lion Sleeps Tonight - Tight Fit
  16. That would be great if it happens, some Americana would be spot on for me.
  17. A quick browse through the thread and I couldn’t see this video (apologies if I missed it)…
  18. Enjoyed that and I don’t think I’ve ever played a Spector. Mmm, NS2 GAS
  19. Sexy 😍. My wallet is pleased that we’re a significant distance apart 😰.
  20. Around £50 is all you need to spend on an adjustable bridge, even less on eBay.
  21. If you can source a copy of his book, Beyond The Bass Clef, it’s a thoroughly good read. I recognise some of the subjects covered in it mentioned above.
  22. America is one of my fave Yes tracks. I discovered it when I bought Yesterdays back in the day, before it became a bonus track on CDs.
  23. I’ve always thought of it as, Don’t Talk Back You W*****
