I used to do a number those in my old band. When the keyboardist originally suggested Gold, I was sceptical, but I loved playing it, still do (I play along at home).
I tend to have my strap length to match how the bass sits when I’m sitting (or thereabouts). Fortunately, it seems to be pretty much the same for all my basses, regardless of body shape.
Gah! This thread now has me looking at EB3s and dammit if GG in Glasgow don't actually have one. https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/product/pxp231124415836002-11714090--gibson-1970-1972-eb3-short-scale-bass-cherry-pre-ow

I had a setup on an Epiphone Casino Coupé that had some fret issues. I had the guy at Guitar Guitar in Epsom do the work and I was very pleased with the results. Might not be the same bloke now, but they have a reputation to uphold and I'd imagine they don't employ monkeys.
I was talking about the Hootenanny with family this evening and my FiL doesn’t do modern, so I looked up how long the Hootenanny has been going, 30 years last night - hardly modern.
