  1. Me too - 119cm.
  2. I used to do a number those in my old band. When the keyboardist originally suggested Gold, I was sceptical, but I loved playing it, still do (I play along at home).
  3. I tend to have my strap length to match how the bass sits when I’m sitting (or thereabouts). Fortunately, it seems to be pretty much the same for all my basses, regardless of body shape.
  4. Very good. I find that modes are fine for analysing existing work but, otherwise, I don’t pay them much notice.
  5. The most fun I’ve ever had in a band was an ‘80s covers band.
  6. Now you can sate your GAS without any thought regarding abstinence, whenever you feel so inclined.
  7. Gah! This thread now has me looking at EB3s and dammit if GG in Glasgow don't actually have one. https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/product/pxp231124415836002-11714090--gibson-1970-1972-eb3-short-scale-bass-cherry-pre-ow I don't want another bass, I don't want another bass...
  8. I had a setup on an Epiphone Casino Coupé that had some fret issues. I had the guy at Guitar Guitar in Epsom do the work and I was very pleased with the results. Might not be the same bloke now, but they have a reputation to uphold and I'd imagine they don't employ monkeys.
  9. Soggy Bottom Blues - Soggy Bottom Boys
  10. What’s The Frequency, Kenneth - REM
  11. They’ve been playing How Does It Feel on Planet Rock a fair bit recently and that bass line is lovely. Jim Lea is a superbly rounded musician.
  12. I don’t think so, the hair is though. Check out the price of DB strings.
  13. I don’t actually have one, but feel I should.
  14. I’m wondering if a bow for a DB counts? Picks don’t and it’s not a huge leap to see the correlation. Asking for a friend .
  15. Curses! Hoist on my own petard. I shouldn’t have moved, as Ashtead was only a shortish drive from my old house.
  16. There’s an advent calendar in the 2nd picture. Do I win a prize?
  17. I was talking about the Hootenanny with family this evening and my FiL doesn’t do modern, so I looked up how long the Hootenanny has been going, 30 years last night - hardly modern.
