  1. Another couple to consider: Bass Collection https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/product/blockhead-bass/ https://www.basscentre.com/bass-collection-jive-bass.html Who knows what they're like, but a very yellow and affordable, MarkBass https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/product/markbass-mb-yellow-jb/ An even cheaper, original run Sadowsky MetroExpress https://www.thomann.co.uk/sadowsky_metroexpress_21_vin_mo_blmp.htm
  2. Turn To Scone - Joe Walsh
  3. Vintage and Cort do J types at new, reasonable prices. However, this just caught my eye… https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/product/200129355041008--sadowsky-metroexpress-standard-jj-4-string-tobacco-burst-morado
  4. Na Na Naan - Cozy Powell
  5. Free Phalling - Tom Petty
  6. Short scales seem to fit into a mix so easily; sounds great.
  7. If they need it that much, they should be willing to pay for it, especially if you have to put some work in to learn the tunes (maybe you don’t). In answer to your actual question, no I haven’t.
  8. Maybe change the style of mic? Go for one on those 1950s looking ones. Still looks cool, perhaps even cooler than an SM58 (YMMV), and reduces the teeth on grill potential as it’s a different shape altogether.
  9. Flamethrower - The J. Geils Band
  10. I’d give you a pass then.
  11. Gasoline - Audioslave
  12. Hmm, buy some tuners and other hardware in advance (if you know the sizes of course)? In other news, another month and I’m still in! I don’t feel right
  13. Love Changes Everything - Climie Fisher
  14. Some set ups just fit your hand better. Once you’ve experienced this, other necks, even ones that you were perfectly happy with previously, don’t feel quite right. For me, Jazz width necks never feel right and some full fat Precision necks are just too big. My Goldilocks nut width is 40mm (give or take). You’ve plainly found a set of dimensions that suit you best. Take a note of them and use them when selecting new basses in the future.
  15. Everybody Needs A Friend - Wishbone Ash
  16. Started out with Nothin - Seasick Steve
  17. I Want It All - Queen
  18. I was having a laugh, thus the smileys, I also mentioned the geographic bit. No need for insults.
  19. Eloquently answered by @taunton-hobbit. I had to ask the first time I heard/saw it. You never have to ask again, it stays imprinted on your cortex.
  20. Bass Day Europe, in London. Whilst geographically correct, this might have folk of a certain political persuasion squirming in their chairs. I did not use the B word, I may have alluded to it, but I think I’ve got away with it.
  21. The River - Bruce Springsteen
  22. Keep On Running - Spencer David Group
