Also while lots of storage space in the bag is a good idea in principle, in practice it's going to make what is already a heavy bag plus 2 basses even heavier. It would have to be fantastically comfortable to wear and I'd want to try it full of all the stuff I intended to put in it before parting with any money.

I liked it. I'm not sure whether it was smug or tongue in cheek, but I'm going to go with the latter as that then doesn't detract from my enjoyment of it.

Wasn't this in a Planet Rock competition, or have I made that up? A very cool thing indeed.

I like the blue, the abalone binding it a bit much for me though!
Ah I see that now, didn't spot it straight off. Yeah probably a bit too much, especially against the blue. -
I like the blue personally, nice.

I had a Ritter dual case, worked just fine, but man alive the weight (I did have 2 stingrays in there though).

One of the 'problems' with the newer small amps is that just about everything is mounted on one board, so if it's a board fault and not just a short (often the cause for blown fuses) or duff valve, then it's likely to be expensive
-
Yeah I'd have the covers off and have a look round at the internal fuses. If you're inexperienced at looking around in amps or electronic kit, probably best to let a technician have a look, it'll cost you something, but better than having no amp and they'll be able to give you an idea of fix cost if it's something more serious.

Peggy was using an Ibanez SR505 when I saw the Union Chapel gig on the Beeb.

I've literally just bought a 55-02. If this had been for sale just 4 days earlier I would have had it off you. Stunning looking and a very good price, I don't think you'll waiting too long for a sale. Horrible reason to have to sell
-
Mine was caused by rock climbing but playing bass and golf aggravated it. Eventually I had to get a cortisone shot as it wasn't getting any better. I still get the odd twinge but it recovers pretty quickly.

Welcome to the low end, from my perspective it was the best move I ever made, despite having played guitar for a long time. Learning all those new songs will get your chops up and make you a better player. Congrats and enjoy.
-
If I hadn't already pulled the trigger on a Lakland earlier in the week I'd have been all over this. Good luck with the sale, I don't reckon you'll have to wait long for a buyer.

A few on Amazon for not too much dosh - In fact one less now as after reading this thread again I've invested in "Sneaking Sally...
A wise investmenttime to dig out my copy methinks.

You'll have someone's eye with that
Good score.

IIRC it's pretty much The Meters playing on Robert Palmer's Sneaking Sally Through The Alley; a bass line more funky than a funky thing with its funk pants on!

Is one of them a 3-string?
TL doesn't use a 3 string now ever since he lost his to a fire. The TL range is Cutlass, 'Ray &'Ray5.

The power of the anorak is strong in you.... In fact to be completely historically correct, it should be a reissue of a fretless Cutlass II.

Great reviews and descriptions, good work chaps I appreciate the effort made here.

I have the Max 9.2 and RH750. Totally different but both great in their own way.
What do find the differences are? I'm interested as I have rig restlessness. No reason for this really as the LMll Schroeder combination is fine, but you know how it is. -
Not one, but 3 TL sigs then. The Sabre is the interesting one though. Of course to be TL correct the Sabre should be Black and fretless (carbon fibre neck too I think, or am I wrong in my anorakness?).

My hat's off to all of those who entered. A close call for me, but I went for the one that most evoked the picture topic in my mind's eye.
-
Very nice looking bass, but forum rules stipulate that you must quote a price. It might also help to give your location. Good luck with your sale.

are the pups barts?
Hansens coupled to the LH3 preamp. -
I like it. I'm a huge Police fan and its nice to hear a bit of an homage to the early stuff (they should've got SC to do some of his hi hat work on it, that would've been awesome sounding, as always). I also hear some Journey in there with the synths and anthemic vocal part. I don't mind that its a rip frankly (ultimately there isn't much that doesn't 'borrow' from other sounds/songs), at least it doesn't make me want to head butt the PC like some of the stuff I hear.
Is a bare neck bad?

If you were going continually from Florida to NY state (or other geographical extremes) then you might have problems with the vast changes in humidity, etc, it's not really going to be a problem here so much. However, when I stripped the neck of my MM SUB and Fender Roadworn P (both were too sticky for me) I did apply a couple of coats of Danish Oil which I then knocked back with 0000 steel wool just to be safe.
