  1. MM trans teal is the bomb. I had a fretted 5 version of this colour scheme, beautiful! Shouldn’t have let it go.
  2. The OP’s one certainly soaked up something.
  3. Yup, sounds just like it should do. Very nice.
  4. I saw the Neville Brothers live once, having been turned onto them by a Jools Holland program; they were marvellous.
  5. I hoped against hope for something funky and steeped in gumbo, but no, I was presented with something far more predictable in the UK. Disappointed.
  6. Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now - The Smiths
  7. It was hearing a 5 string Midwestern 2 that started me down the shorty rabbit hole in the first place. Nice score.
  8. Right way round for that hybrid.
  9. Wide Boy - Nik Kershaw
  10. A day trip by train to London may be the best course of action. Get up to Camden from Kings X or Euston (whichever your terminus is), there you’ll find a branch of Guitar Guitar, then you can go to the Aladdin’s cave that is The Gallery, a bit up the road.
  11. Dream On - Aerosmith
  12. I’d invest in a preamp pedal. My VTDI, with the bite switch engaged, really lifts the highs of my Mustang and P, both fitted with flats. That way you have the advantage of 2 tones. I also have a Sadowsky SBP2, which works ok with those 2 basses, but is better suited to my J and MM types and isn’t as flexible as the Tech21.
  13. Screenshot or it didn’t happen
  14. I always enjoyed going to The Gallery when I lived down south, a real Aladdin’s cave.
  15. Back.
  16. Doughnut Fear The Reaper - BOC
  17. Fear of the Duck - Iron Maiden
  18. Mr Brownstone - GnR
  19. There’s a new version of the Cali76 in the FS section at the moment IIRC. There is also an Empress for sale there too, which are also rather good to my ears. I use an MXR M87, which I find effective (no pun intended) and nicely transparent. A big comparison here…
  20. This is so true of my my Mustang too. It’s plainly a short scale thing. Time to upgrade the pickups on my HB ‘stangalike methinks (once I’ve got over my current Spector GAS).
  21. Recording and playing at home with a particular bass is one thing, how did you find the Mustang live? I’ve found mine delivers everywhere so far.
  22. Happiness is a Swarm Gun - The Beatles (perhaps that should be Beetles).
