  1. Cheaper from GG. https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/search/?Query=Aerodyne
  2. A cardboard box. No, they don’t come with a case or gigbag.
  3. Wouldn't hurt. What's the worst they can say, "Nein!"?
  4. Ooh, good to know, I've just ordered a tort plate. I'll get some copper tape pronto. I had some lightweight Hipshot tuners spare, so I've chucked them on, it now weighs 3.67kg, less than my Mustang. Yes, it is slightly translucent, but less noticeably so because it's a matt finish.
  5. My favourite is Missives From The Sisters. Good work, Sir! 👏👏👏
  6. Changed the strings and did a set up. One small high spot around the 12th fret on the G side, I'll narrow it down and polish out. Couldn't get the D & G pickup high enough without the pickup going slack on the screws (trying to match the out of my JMJ), an extra bit of foam under the pickup sorted that. No cavity shielding I notice, but it's quiet as snowflake fall, so not an issue.
  7. Just arrived. 3.8kg (very manageable given the good balance) and a 40mm nut (perfect), very playable straight out of the box. Happy days!
  8. That would a complete result for me. Doh! Just 4 days late. I’m ok with it as I should be NBD today and not next week.
  9. “Your parcel from Thomann Outbound is with your DHL Parcel UK driver for delivery between 11:08 and 12:08.”
  10. It'll be out for delivery tomorrow, apparently. I hope I'm not disappointed by either the product or the delivery. 😬🤞
  11. Currently wishing I'd pulled the trigger sooner, this inactivity, waiting for the border clearance, is driving me nuts. 😬
  12. Once I was roped into singing a bit, I went and bought a reasonably priced mic at a bass/guitar show. It was an AKG D5 and cost about £45 at the time IIRC and did the job adequately. Time went on and I was singing lead vocals and the sound guy (a friend of mine) said that for lead, the mic wasn’t doing me any favours. Tried an SM58, better but not great. Then I tried a Beta58, which was a big improvement for my baritone warblings and it’s the one I still use today. Not cheap, but not eye wateringly expensive either; a good investment.
  13. Depends on your own point of view. Some would say earning a living, others, having some celebrity status and others, having a successful album/song release.
  14. Probably the moment that I realised that what I actually wanted from life was just to be happy, which probably explains my ‘all over the map’ working life. I was 16 and at my first job interview, the executive who interviewing me (a really nice guy) noted that I was a musician on my application and, quite rightly, wanted to see where my focus was and how it would impact my commitment to working for the company. I remember saying, “I really just want to be happy,” or words to that effect. It was a revelation to me at the time, as I’d never considered it before. Would turning pro/making it have made happy? Quite likely, but for a long time, I just let life happen to me, rather than making it happen and that isn’t how one makes it, as far as I can see. I would have liked to have toured, just once, still would, but seems unlikely, although not impossible.
  15. I tried a good number of chorus pedals that were available, when I was looking for one. I settled on the EBS Unichorus and have been using that ever since. It has chorus, flanger and pitch modulation settings (I just use the chorus setting). I’ve had that for at least 15 years (along with an EBS octave pedal) and see no reason the change. In that time the only maintenance that has been required, has been to resolder the connections to the footswitch, when they became cracked/dry last year.
  16. That is very good to hear. The tone control on my JMJ is very usable for a wide range of tones, sounds like this is the same; happy days. That is not making my waiting time any easier .
  17. Mine is scheduled to arrive Friday-Monday, I’m hoping it’s the front part of that delivery window. 🤞
