  1. They hire vans quite a lot around these parts, which then tend to be white.
  2. Given the price of professional level, classical instruments, I imagine that GAS is something best avoided.
  3. Now this Jake doesn’t do the bulbous lower horn and pickguard the way others do. Nice.
  4. Happy to move away from the big F, but other than Maruszczyk, I’m not aware of anyone else. Happy to be educated 👍
  5. Bass Tetris surely?
  6. I like Maruszczyk basses (I have 2 Elwoods and have owned a Jake), but the lower horn and scratchplate aways look overly bulbous to me, if they sharpened those contours up, just a touch, it'd be a winner.
  7. I'd be all over a 32" P Bass, I reckon it would feel just right for me.
  8. Replicate this position with a strap, if possible. I certainly try to get my sitting and on the strap position as close as possible to each other. Conversely, play sitting down all the time perhaps?
  9. Definitely a case of, "Shut up! We know you can play," and I would've preferred to hear the lyrics. Top level playing, nonetheless.
  10. For bass solo, see above, for bass led instrumental probably... Or possibly...
  11. You/we are bass player/s. Bassist is discrimination against bass players .
  12. The Ballad of Ned Kelly - Fotheringay
  13. Er... be polygamous, use both.
  14. Pretty much all you really need. I saw them on the Hysteria tour, it was just ok (Brian May came on at the end and they played Tie Your Mother Down), 40 or so years on, I imagine they would be slicker than oil on silk.
  15. I’ve often thought a reel of some description would not only make sure they don’t twist, it should also be a faster way of putting them away.
  16. I’ve worn specs since I was about 5 or 6, they are, for better or worse, part of who I am in terms of looks. The only time I don’t need them, in fact they get in the way, is when I’m doing really close work and then it’s a joy to dispense with them. I wear contact lenses for outdoor activities sometimes. In answer to the OP, yes I do. Do I need them to play? Not really, but if I need to read something or look beyond the stage whilst playing, they’re a necessity.
