  1. Long since gone, but worthy of posting here.
  2. Yee and what's more, hah! Nice shirts.
  3. - back.
  4. Fun Toy Three, available in all good 'adult' stores.
  5. I had one of those, yes, it’s a problem .
  6. I’ve had mine so long now and haven’t looked at anything else, means I must be happy. Phil Jones Flightcase plus PB300 powered cab.
  7. Love it. If I was still down south and my current band was there with me (a mod outfit), I’d be heading towards the Dartford Crossing with all haste. GLWTS.
  8. What a great bass line that is, with some really interesting timing here and there; one of Becker’s finest. The outro is a great exercise for some modal playing if you like that kind of thing. Great news that you found someone who fitted you criteria and that you passed on the teacher without the correct equipment to teach bass.
  9. Ah, proving that autocorrect has a sense of humour.
  10. I must say that my MXR M87 plays really nicely with my Tech21 VTDI.
  11. Butter - BTS
  12. Bobby Vega has so much funk with a pick, it’s unreal. But also check out Cody Wright and Steve Swallow and don’t forget that Anthony Jackson uses a pick, when he feels it’s necessary.

  17. I had them on 2 prior basses (a GWB35 and a Roscoe Beck signature), I found them useful. I don’t have any basses with them now and can only surmise that what I liked about them, was the extended thumb rest, rather than the consistent depth under the strings.
  18. Yes, very much a case of emptying the parts bin over actually designing something new. ‘Twas ever thus at chez Fender.* *Other lazy guitar/bass manufacturers are available.

  21. My dad used to play The Ted Heath Orchestra, The Peddlers (organ trio), Tom Jones, Les Paul & Mary Ford, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Wes Montgomery, James Last and others, but these are the ones that immediately spring to mind. I could listen to them now and still appreciate the. However, I went my own way with ‘70s pop, until I was exposed to Deep Purple and everything changed and I became a blues rock fan. Back then, certainly not now, I was a massive Clapton fan, who then became one of my dad’s favourite artists. It turns out that we influenced each other. Did what my parents played influence what I play/listen to now? I guess at some level, yes. However, on face value and even looking a bit beyond that, I’d have to say no.
  22. I’ve not watched it all, but here’s Rick Beato’s latest video on the subject.
