Mother of toilet seat kind of works on the daphne blue one (like wot I ‘as), but on black - no, no. It annoys me that only the black JMJ came with the optional p/g, I think a black one would look fine and dandy on a blue JMJ. The workings of the Fender hive mind are a true mystery.

I also like tort on black myself, but didn’t that black JMJ come with an additional black p/g as well as the mother of toilet-seat?

First, congrats on being back in a band. Second, you dirty, lucky dog, I love the sound of the band, that is right up my strasse! Just a quick listen on the iPad and I’m hooked. Definitely going to have to listen to this on the iMac with headphones. I hear so many things I like, no least the vocals - very ‘80s Geddy, but smoother and less jarring and I hear Marillion in the opening track - it’s all good! This has reminded me to start nagging my covers band (60s/mod type thing, which I never thought I’d enjoy, but do) to start playing some of the guitarist’s original work.

I've watched a few of your videos on YouTube, always worth a watch, I love your enthusiasm.

Played an ‘ex-serviceman’s’ club last night. Decent enough stage and a good sized room. During soundcheck an early punter said it was too loud, which didn’t bode well, but they were the first ones up dancing; people are weird. An OK gig, but again there were timing issues of starts, stops, etc, which is starting to grind my gears a bit and it looks like I’m going to have to start counting everything for everyone else’s benefit, to bring them in with nods, etc. Audience seem very low key and felt it wasn’t a good venue for us really, as it all felt a bit flat. Another gig in 2 weeks, hopefully, that’ll be better.

Yeah, I’m looking forward to those being readily available, as that’ll stop me having to customise long scale ones for my Hardly Bent-one.

Short scale flats should be ok (assuming your new one doesn’t have through body stringing).
