  1. Also on Come Talk To Me, from the same album.
  2. Hot For Teacher - Van Halen
  3. Pass the mind bleach, please!
  4. Spotty Bums Lowered. An in depth study into the toilet habits of those with acne riddled behinds.
  5. I’m afraid not. The Vintera comes close, but doesn’t have the custom Seymour Duncan pickup or the nitro finish.
  6. Line & Let Live is a fabulous album, with decidedly prog leanings in some of the tunes, Ships Just Don't Disappear In The Night as a case in point.
  7. Wise words. Limiting your musical choice will limit your opportunities to play.
  8. One of the best off the peg bass purchases I've ever made. It has transformed my outlook on what I like. I tried one out pre covid and again after the first lockdown, finally ordering one online in Feb 2021. Easily the best, non boutique shorty I've tried and currently my go to bass. The herd is sometimes right and definitely in this case. DO IT! DO IT!
  9. An arty shot of the JMJ taken by Saturday’s house photographer.
  10. Stir It Up - Uncle Bob
  11. Jam nights, ads in Joinmyband and Bandmix are the proactive things you can do (I know the last 2 get mixed reviews, but I’ve joined 3 bands over the years from them) and I think Facebook might have something similar.. Don’t be closed off to genres you wouldn’t normally play, they can often be the most rewarding merely due to the new challenge.
  12. Great amps. I used mine the other day, on a stand as a monitor with the DI out to the PA, for a rock gig; sounded great. I also have a PB300 powered cab that I use with it for when PA support isn’t possible. I also use it with my EUB too. Great all rounder. GLWTS.
  13. Harley Benton. My Mustang-alike PJ was £200 at the time and is even cheaper now.
  14. Don't rule out the Squiers, they often offer a different aesthetic and feel to the Fenders and some here prefer them to MiMs.
  15. An actual action shot from Saturday:
  16. They're Coming To Take Me Away, Ha Haaa - Napoleon XIV
  17. Ooh, natural Mustang with black comp stripes, that’d work - well, for me anyway.
  18. Dammit! I knew that too, but I got Dean in my head and it stuck there. I’ll go back and edit to cover myself from more corrections.
  19. There is just something about an all black and maple P that is so right.
  20. You are not alone.
  21. When I think of a ‘metal bass’, I always think pointy and, by extension, Dean and BC Rich models, probably most notably the Mockingbird. These would certainly fit in with my visual perception of a ‘metal bass’ (YMMV). However, if I had to name Mockingbird players, the only notable two that I know are Bernard Edwards and Jerome Preston, neither of whom are in the slightest metal, but ever so extremely funky. Therefore, in answer to the OP question, yes, yes they can be used for other genres and they perform extremely well (might have quite a lot to do with the talent playing them of course ).
