  1. Extreme. Pormograffiti is almost a perfect album other than the wee Shitey midi file sounding piano ballad fired right in the middle of it. Utter guff!
  2. My band put ona 250 capacity show in May. We sold 4 tees at the event. I know design, colour, size availability etc could factor into how many you sell, but for me it was more hassle than it was worth!
  3. Loch lomond. The byre at inchyra. About 17 hours ago!
  4. I know its too late, but the HArtke lh500's are extremely clean!
  5. Can't tell if this would mute the headphones when going through the outputs and vice versa, but if it does then this is exactly what the OP needs! I would imagine the headphone output is just always on though, but i might be wrong. If you can live with the headphone signal being on all the time though, this is probably quite a neat solution! Not sure how you're currently powering a set of headphones from your pedal board, but if you aren't yet, then as others have said, AB pedal plus a headphone amp (such as the P1) would do the exact job you need.
  6. This. live tracking on a budget is more hassle than its worth ive found. You're on a budget so download Amplitube. The starter pack is free, and i think they randomly give away free packs here and there, you'll have a great sounding guitar and bass with zero outlay. And the extra packs arent that much, just buy what you think you'll utilise. If you've got guitar and bass sounds you want to use externally, you can plug your set up into the Audio interface and then use amplitube purely for the cab sims and room sounds. So many options for the guitars and bass these days! and easily done for free I might be wrong but dont death metal vocalists tend to use dynamic mics for recording? If so, just get an sm58, and you can use that live when you get to that stage - some folk dont mind but if you need to get up close and personal with a mic, you might not want to be sharing a mic with 3000 other folk! Interface-wise; honestly anything is quite amazing these days. I use a roland Rubix22 and you can get them 2nd hand for £50 and it sounds and works brilliantly. I've used it for remote recording sessions into professional studios and I've had multiple comments saying that the audio I'm providing is excellent, so one of those would do you nicely. Drums: for free midi drums, I've tried all the free things and I think the best one is the Steve Slate drums. dead easy to use, and lots of control- only limited to the actual drum samples that you get which might not suit death metal.
  7. I use an HX stomp but if it broke, genuinely I'd go back to my zoom ms60b. I used the zoom a few months ago as my guitarist borrowed the stomp, i was perfectly happy with the sound. I've always loved the zoom stuff, maybe not so much for the dirty sounds, but for a basic clean preamp, through a pa, noones going to think your sound is poor. Saying that, whats the fun in that! Get an hx stomp!
  8. It's generally only guitarists that find that and I have a suspicion its because they now can hear clearly what they're actually playing so they now need to actually play properly rather than rely on the wall raw volume to mask their playing!
  9. I've got a carvin bass combo. loved it and was the ideal size and weight for the occasional stage monitoring i required. Unfortunately it died.
  10. Must admit I don't know his solo stuff that well so I wasn't massively bothered, but aye, it just sounded like his solo boost wasn't on! Or, the 2nd guitarist was up too loud.
  11. Slash at the Hydro. Myles Kennedy and the bassist/vocalist were on point. Could barely hear slash. And Doogie White, Ex alcatrazz, rainbow, malmsteen singer
  12. We're looking at getting a wireless kit for our vocalists iems. There seems to be about 40 million different systems so really just looking for real life recommendations. We're happy to spend up to 250... just need sender/receiver.. he already has in ears.
  13. There's a bit of bleed out the main outputs which is a pain but nothing that makes it unusable! Apparently the later models don't have that problem.
  14. Me and my band use a zoom l12 for rehearsals, in ears and occasionally live. Apart from it being slightly plasticy feeling, functionally it works great ( the monitor mixing took a few goes to get my head round but its actually very simple). I've got it in a flight case which it never leaves so not got a huge concern over breaking it, and so far very good. A much cheaper option especially if you're wanting to go IEMs as this will also be your headphone amp, and more "traditional" as it has actual faders.
  15. pretty sure i covered it.
  16. Recording directly is essentially juat a blanket term for recording without going through speaker and mic set up. DI boxes do quite a specific job but for your purposes getting your bass signal directly into your recording equipment (your computer) is all that it means. This can be from your bass lead directly, through a pre, through your amps pre amp out put, effects etc.. all with various results! To get the audio In to your computer you really need an audio interface. This dies multiples jobs but most importantly it changes your bass signal which is analogue into a digital signal so you can hear it and see it on your computer. The daw is also just the software used to record and control your recordings. If you have a Computer, get yourself an audio interface, and a daw ( there's plenty free ones) and although it might be a bit of a kerning curve, the basics are quite easy once you get to grips!
  17. I lost my last filter for my trusty Alpine plugs on Friday night that I've had for must be close to a decade! I beleive they will be the musicsafe pros although they now come in different packaging, so I'm hoping they actual plugs are the same cos I think my ones are wonderful!
  18. My band are doing our annual show in May.. come along!
  19. My feeling is that it is age. However I don't think the cut off has changed. When I was 14 in 1996 I would've said anything pre 80s would be vintage.. nearly 30 years later I still think that!
  20. If you feel you'd use the extra in board versatility then I'd 100% say it's worth it, although I can't vouch specifically for the John East preamp.
  21. Not for a full refund if the goods are of diminished value. I'd assume you've opened it and tried it. You've diminished the value. As you say, it's not a try before you buy. The fact that it is broken though gives you rights to a full refund with no deductions, and in fact, any real impact on you. Just provide basic proof of the fault and everyone moves on. Alternatively, let your piss boil, refuse to take a 30 second video, post a rant online, then travel to the shop instead. I know what I'd do.
  22. Short term right to reject is on the basis that that the fault is assumed present at the time of purchase. But the item still needs to be faulty. So its not entirely unreasonable for the supplier to request evidence that its faulty in the first place. Video seems a logical option. I've zero issues with that. If they then use that to try get out accepting the return then that's a different matter.
  23. I'm a big fan of the zoom stuff. Always liked their bass multiFX. my first ever pedal was a zoom, as per the photo below. Pretty much the only bit of kit I've never sold. Definitely shows its age so it's retired. Owned multiple Zoom pedals but still own and use occasionally an ms60b! I've done that thing where it now has all the MS range effects on it, not just the bass ones, so it's now a make shift bass and guitar rig! I did a direct to PA gig last month using the ms60b and it sounded brilliant. Zero issues using this in the future.
  24. i really want to get through this but holy moly, the host and others are absolutely murder!
  25. I love mine. Can't comment on how it compares though but there's nothing poor about the yamaha!
