  1. Unless you're a Jimmy. That said, you get your name endlessly repeated by the most annoying voice ever so there's some justice.
  2. Some chap called Jayzus (based on the usual pronunciation) seems to inhabit a fair few songs. Seems a decent sort from the lyrics surrounding his name.
  3. I can offer you nothing but sympathy. I hope your appointment yields an answer and provides a treatment that will have you Y Viva Espana'ing again in no time. :-) Best of luck for a workable outcome.
  4. Easy tiger. No rush. :-)
  5. Rhythm sections don't play solos EVER!!!!!
  6. Ha, that last paragraph clearly exposes you as an imposter on a bass forum!! :-)
  7. The Manics with a roadie on bass. Got to be a great thing for him (although he has depped for Nicky Wire before). I have to say Taylor Swift went up in my estimation with her attack of reality. I'm sure she's delighted! :-)
  8. Sold my Walkabout 15 to Chris. Mt up at a mutually convenient place and he was waiting with a coffee and offered to pay any parking costs. Lovely guy and thoroughly trustworthy. Pleasure to do business. Enjoy the amp!!
  9. I loaned my daughter the step ladder when she moved into her house recently and she hasn't returned them yet! The case is the standard period case in excellent condition. I don't recall if the key is in it. Apologies for the delay.
  10. So the pedals serve no purpose? Now that really is for show!!
  11. True. I was using headphones and the PC. Even I wouldn't expect to hear detail through a TV speaker.
  12. Unlined fretless - what do you take me for? :-)
  13. I can agree with the last paragraph. I was watching a David Gilmour show on DVD and plain couldn't hear any difference between all the basses Guy Pratt was using (for more or less every number).
  14. I'm sorry but your last sentence is a bit stupid. I swap between a passive fretted bass and an active fretless because the songs sound better with the slides. I forgot to switch the passive/active switch at a rehearsal once and vowed that I wouldn't do that again and went down a route that forced me to act for each change. You use pedals to change the sound to suit songs, some of us use a different bass.
  15. I'm sure we can squeeze another one out of you.
  16. I have exactly this and it's brilliant.
  17. It seems to me the writing is now on the wall. You thought you had a 'status' within the band that they are demonstrating you don't. I might be inclined to let this go as you (reluctantly) agreed to their using your pa but I would be making a mental note to quit if it's repeated.
  18. I think it was more that it was the first quality 2x15 I had. It was a bit underpowered and so I changed the speakers in it. Originally, I had a 1x18 cab and 2 4x12s (a smaller version of John Deacons rig) but it didn't sound right and was a mountain of stuff to cart around. After the Ampeg 2x15 I bought a Boogie diesel 2x15 (well, two in fact) and have been a rampant Boogie user ever since then (about 1988).
  19. Sting before he went all Establishment?
  20. Hearing Queen II when it came out. To be precise, Faerie Fellers Master Stroke ( a track, for those that don't know). From that moment I knew exactly how I wanted to sound. Probably took me 10 years to finally achieve it - when I got my first really good 2x15 (an old Ampeg V4 cab). Stayed with the same basic set up ever since.
  21. I played in a band with a guitarist whom I couldn't stand and who, likewise, couldn't stand me. We were stupidly polite and nice to each other but I imagine he was seething at the mere sight of me as much as his very name would set my teeth on edge. Luckily now play with 3 absolutely top guys and we get on really well. We have a pretty much even gig/curry night ratio!!
  22. Thanks chaps. The B-15 is a great amp but isn't really for gigging in the modern world, These amps do it without breaking a sweat.
  23. I had the Korg Pitch Black but the power lead connection kept breaking which was very annoying. I now have the Behringer which is very good and has a very decent rack light in it.
  24. Maybe someone in Brighton should pay a visit. Alex appears to have gone missing for some time now.
  25. It will certainly be replaced when circumstances change. Really is a B-15 on steroids (and I say that as an ex B-15 owner).
