  1. Thanks both. Yes, it is way better than the price suggests. If the neck wasn't a little too flat for me, I'd be keeping it (although it's looking like I might be anyway) 😞
  2. Is it for information, or did you have a job to do on it? I only ask because someone may not have access to the schematic, but could help you complete whatever task you want to do. It won't be me, but I dare say someone else here can help.
  3. Ok. Thanks for the advice. It will be heeded.
  4. I have a Walkabout 15 and have to agree. A flip-top on steroids. I have a spare Subway 15" 8 ohm speaker and am tempted to install that and see how it works with the TT-800. I'd think about getting a WD-800 to power it.
  5. I can also add to the love-in. Just taken delivery of a very nice Greco Spacy Sound (Pbass). Very pleasant chat on the phone. Simple transaction, and delivered, very well packaged exactly on the day stated. Really happy with the whole thing.
  6. The songs remain the same. Good strap line. I'll give them that (though I dare say that was 'inherited')
  7. Pedant alert! I guess you mean 'exude mojo' rather than "extrude mojo". Interested in why you chose to slap the 5 basses. Not the 'regular job' of a Pbass. Very minor gripes in the scheme of things, and neither diminishes an interesting video.

  9. I bought this only recently. It's a really nice bass but I think the fingerboard radius is bigger than the basses I am used to - it feels flatter than 'standard'. Very nice and playable but 48 years of muscle memory are hard to overcome! Serial number information and other research shows this is an alder body, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. Everything works fine. The tuners are not the original ones (when I bought it, a couple of the bushings had cracked - they seemed to be metalised plastic). I had some better quality tuners and bushes in the parts drawer (I suspect they're Fender Japan but can't swear to it). I've given it a clean and did the fingerboard with lemon oil. All in all, it's a very good bass and I was very pleasantly surprised when it arrived. The colour is best described as burgundy and the scratchplate is a sort of Cornish ice cream colour (best description I can give it). The pictures give a good impression of the appearance. The previous seller fitted it with a new set of (what I reckon are) Rotosound Roto Bass strings, and I have shortened their life by about 20 minutes. It comes with a Fender cover (it's the bag a Fender Japan bass would come in). I won't call it a gig bag. The bass will be very well packed in any case. The important numbers: Weight is a comfortable 9lbs 7oz. Nut width is 43mm As always, collection is preferred and I am also willing to drive a reasonable distance to hand it over. I was a bit optimistic on price so dropped to something more attractive.
  10. Certainly wish I still had my two PB 70US basses. Amazing instruments.
  11. Just 3 questions What's the width at the nut please? What weight? What's your address and when are you next going out? Gorgeous bass. GLWTS.
  12. The M-Pulse can be rack mounted so can be removed from the case. Simply awesome amps.
  13. I often look at the Fender Dimension and wonder if that is MM like in character.
  14. Just sold an OLP Stingray to Phil. Dead easy transaction and payment was swift. Perfect way to sell on BC. Steve
  15. I'll keep it at this for a few days and then return it to original and flog the other bits. I'll probably do better that way, in any case.
  16. Probably my favourite would be Stephen Amazing (Upp). John Deacon is my biggest influence and other names have already cropped up but this guy knows his way around and is pretty dead funky! No visuals to this but stick Upp into YouTube and you get a clip of Upp playing behind Jeff Beck on the Beeb. UPP - Nitto (1977) - YouTube
  17. John edwards didn’t play with status quo at live aid it was Alan Lancaster, John joined later when they ‘reformed’ after the live aid exposure. Correct. I never said he did. I guess he could have been there as an observer. - Genius. Yes, he could. Quite a few thousand others made it.
  18. Never mind them. Bring back the Royal Scot biscuit (and no, I'm not trying to make a reference to a recently locked thread).
  19. John Taylor played it then (and presumably) owned it. He subsequently gave it to John at Live Aid.
  20. I used to own a Boogie 2x18 that was supposedly made for him.
  21. In truth, I'd probably rate this higher than the Sterling SUB, with the Nordy and Stinger preamp on board.
  22. It is contoured, to be completely accurate. That said it's a way better instrument than the price suggests.
  23. Did I really say 'fairly' safely? 🙂 It will be in a gig bag and VERY safe. Original parts are included.
