  1. I was in the top 40 with a band that, itself, had other hits before my time.
  2. They did just the one song 25 minutes in.
  3. You won't regret waiting on the Mesa.
  4. They were on. I watched one number. Don't know if they did another one - couldn't be bothered to stay up to see. Not a fan, but my partner's youngest son is part of their management team. Royal Crud.
  5. Hi Stewart.
  6. Mainly named for identification (as all my basses are Precision types) 1966 = #1 because it's been my number 1 for almost 40 years 1971 isn't really used much so remains nameless 1972 = the Wreck, mainly because it looks as though Rory Gallagher may have owned it SVL (1) = Emily - so named (and with the name actually on the neck plate) so my eldest knows it's hers when I snuff it SVL (2) = Hannah - same reason A/E fretless = the fretless really. Not actually named. The Greco and Tokai aren't used much so aren't named/identified.
  7. My Virgo brain is struggling with that red amp sleeve!! 🙂
  8. Go on YouTube and put in Ronnie Pickering and you'll see, and forever remember the name.
  9. Can't be. We know who he is.
  10. I have lived with this (it's not a bass I use on gigs), but it's starting to bug me. When the volume pot is wide open, the tone appears to be wide open too (no matter how it's set). Back off the volume a little and the tone functions as normal. It's a straight Precision set up with nothing fancy. Any thoughts on a likely cause, folks?
  11. On my basses, volume control at willy height. It seems to feel more natural! 🙂 When concealed in clothing obviously, my arms aren't that long!!
  12. Welcome to the club. I love mine. I've had them for a couple of years now and can't wait to fire up the rig every time I use it. Prepare to be stunned when the rack ears turn up - they're heavier than the amp!
  13. There's something rather trapped wind about this, I reckon.
  14. Back in the 80's I played in a soul band. We were playing a club that had screens either side of the stage. I looked up from my bass to see every member of the band watching the screens intently. I turned and saw that they were showing the video for Girls On Film.
  15. Good luck if Steven Siegal ever jumps up to play guitar!! 🙂
  16. Yeah, but now you know clearly how sh** you are! 🙂
  17. Worked for Naomi Campbell!!
  18. If you are just talking about practising, at this stage, I might question the need for an amp at all. I pretty much always practice acoustically without issue. Use the saved cash to get a 'better' bass. If you were local to me I would certainly help with a set up, and maybe someone here (who is in your vicinity) will offer.
  19. I guess he didn't succeed, or we wouldn't have the electrical goods shops.
  20. ... but more than one bank account. For me, this one.
  21. Are you near Beachy Head? Of course the real title is 'Why are you still doing this?'. In my case, because I'm not enlightened, and I don't care. Probably an age thing, but I like to have an area on stage I can go to feel the sound. Maybe the day will come but I don't foresee it. Not entirely sure what the requirement is for an IEM set up for 5 with different monitor mixes using a 'normal' mixer with limited aux outputs.
  22. I have basses with both and prefer the Gotoh. The Fender seems to make the bass more resonant but I prefer the design of the Gotoh.
  23. Not sure what tax you mean but air fares are zero rated for VAT.
