  1. Currently selling a Korg Pitchblack X Pro rack tuner for £179K. I think I'll pass.
  2. I have a Korg in my amp rack but have a Peterson Stomp on the board with my switcher unit.
  3. I guess we've all had our moments. I have thought myself to have been incredibly fortunate over the years. I am very aware that the operative word is fortunate.
  4. You are to be congratulated. I do suspect you're an exception. I'm dead jealous too!! 🙂
  5. CertaInly not! I take my hat off to you if you can make it work. I found I couldn't when my family came along.
  6. All this is why I find the 'are you a professional' argument so silly. I did music full time for a good while but it's not a sustainable living on its own, not if you want (for yourself, and even more for your dependants) any decent standard of living.
  7. Agreed. 1966 to 1973/4 is the absolute purple patch for me.
  8. He's got a wonderful 1954 Precision to play on them. A good mate is his tech. He's also played on some demos himself. He's a very fine guitarist.
  9. I understand (for amps) it's RMS output/volts.
  10. A lime and soda for me. Might have a small bottle of beer if it's in the dressing room fridge.
  11. Please forgive the standard questions. What is the weight and the nut width please?
  12. Precision. Close the thread. 🙂
  13. Oh, that is a shame. An absolute session legend. One of my very best basses is made up of bits from his spares drawer.
  14. You were doing so well, until that second sentence. 🙂
  15. I have two Mesa TT800 amps, two Mesa Subway 1x15 cabs (which don't count, I know), two (identical) SVL precisions, three sunburst/tort/rosewood Precisions.
  16. Yes. Not for me, but well worth an hour's drive to check it out, because it could be for you.
  17. [Smart ar5e alert] Especially as they haven't existed for 19 years! 🙂
  18. Current line-up (left to right). SQ Squier Precision (about '84), Tokai Jazz Sound (about '82), '66, SVL Reserve, 72/68 'The Wreck', SVL Reserve, '71, Japanese A/E fretless, Greco Spacy Sound (about 1982)
  19. It was indeed, Mike. It's truly a great bass but I can't justify keeping it, just for its looks etc. The plan was to buy the SQ Precision on sale here, but it sold recently (after I snaffled the other one).
  20. For initial sound check for bass, just a 12 bar groove in A. When all instruments/mics done, we play a couple of numbers from the set.
  21. Oh chaps, you're all too kind!! 🙂
  22. I am just not a Jazz player and there's no point keeping a bass I simply don't play - however pretty it is. This bass plays every bit as good as it looks, it's a real stunner of a bass from the lawsuit era. Lovely candy apple red with matching headstock. It's never had a scratchplate, it would seem and probably looks all the better for it. It's got all the usual Jazz bass sounds in it and it's in great condition. Weight is a reasonable 9.4lbs on the scales. It still has the original Tokai gig bag. It's down near Portsmouth and I'd rather do some driving to meet up, rather than post it but it's not a case of collection only, though very much preferred. Shout out if you want any more information/pictures. Let's get this gone (please) - £575 for some seriously pretty Japanese build quality.
  23. I've done a few weekends. Monica and her Boogaloo promotions predominantly. Done Skeggy too. In all cases, decent money and well looked after.
  24. Surely you mean "all the basses you'll ever need - and a Jazz bass" 🙂
  25. The Independent also said "Axl Rose flips between a lower register that resembles a clogged lawnmower and a higher one that sounds like Barry Gibb suffering the mother of all wedgies". 🙂
