  1. I would expect that she has looked at what other options there are. Rather like the thread about 'workshy' youngsters we don't know the circumstances and should maybe just answer the question asked without coming over as a bit preachy.
  2. Get a dedicated signal splitter. You will want one output to be isolated to avoid an earth loop. I have a Mike Hill one but other, less expensive versions are available. https://mikehillservices.com/earth-loop---ground-hum-eliminator--mini-376-p.asp
  3. Absolutely awesome amps. No surprise you're in love.
  4. I can offer two suggestions. Kent Armstrong Vintage P and Lindy Fralin (the 5% overwound are awesome).
  5. I enjoyed my Mesa M-Pulse 600 very much. Great sounding amp. The eq is very versatile (with a parametric section too).
  6. This. The enemy of any tax query is the 'man in the pub'. Ask the people that deal with this all the time. The form does state a private individual doesn't need an EORI number. HMRC folk are not trying to catch you out.
  7. I think you need to complete the form on the attached link. This is not a process I have had to follow myself so I will happily defer to anyone with actual experience. Let me know if you have any problems and I'll see how I can help. https://public-online.hmrc.gov.uk/lc/content/xfaforms/profiles/forms.html?contentRoot=repository:///Applications/SpecPersTax_A/1.0/SP4&template=SP4.xdp
  8. Just seen this. Yes. There should be no taxes under outward processing relief. I will look into it and report back.
  9. So sorry to hear of your situation. I can do nothing but wish you all the best for the future. I can't imagine how it must feel but easy to see what it means for you.
  10. If you have 300 quid to spend, have a trawl through the classifieds here and see what takes your fancy. Buying second-hand from here will mean a better amp and the chance to sell (to trade up) without losing any money later on.
  11. I would certainly concentrate on the advice provided by Cliff. His is based on actual experience whereas I am using related experience, so he trumps me by some margin!
  12. Have a read of this. Hopefully, what you need is in there, in addition to the help already offered. Not hugely sure that a private transaction document will carry much weight as any document provided could have been created by you. A commercial invoice can be checked and has a number of legally required elements to it, which are traceable. That's not to say that you shouldn't take up the offer but never volunteer anything that is not being requested (a general rule of thumb). Not trying to be difficult but just raise an awareness. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/transfer-of-residence-to-great-britain
  13. Yup. Rubbish it appears. Amps equals watts/volts so my TT is 250/230 = 1.2. They seem to view the UK as 230V for the calculation.
  14. I'm trying to find the link. I had a recollection that the square root of 2 had some significance but I'll be Jeremy Thorped if I can see it now.
  15. Minor derail but kind of relevant to the discussion as it's evolved. If a Mesa TT-800 states it's rated at 250 watts (consumption) then the amps being drawn will be 250/230x1.4 = 1.5 amps. Is that correctly worked out? Just trying to get a feeling for the total draw of the band and the number of sockets required. Does it also mean that that is with the thing running flat out? I run mine at about 3 and that's truckloads. I guess that begs the question, does running at 30% (approx) consume 0.45amps?
  16. Not an isolated bass but some lovely rhythm playing from Danny Kustow. I wasn't aware he was dead. Shame. Apologies for the derail.
  17. Yes. My understanding is that a carnet is still required. In some ways, the visa was the easy bit.
  18. I would hate to hear Yngwie Malmsteens version of Albatross!!
  19. I actually do like that but can't see how to select it. Can you let me know how please?
  20. Ah but you have retained a signature that is more than the 3 lines the rest of us are permitted.
