  1. That's very true. I would think that most of us on this forum operate at a level where any kind of merchandising (including CD sales) will not be economically viable. Indeed, you would have to account for import VAT (and possibly Duty) on goods that crossed into the EU. It starts getting a bit technical but that's probably all you need at this point. It's probably enough to put you off!
  2. Can't have been my first amp (given the date) but I found the bill!!
  3. A Carlsboro Top 100. My first amp was a Top 50, back in the 70's. Through a folded horn cab (I had made) with a Goodmans 18" speaker. Marvellous.
  4. One important thing missing from all this (and possibly the largest) is the fact that some countries have a nil VAT registration threshold (Netherlands, Spain and Bulgaria) and so a single CD sale will require you to be VAT registered there. Performance is different (a service) but goods are treated differently. Spain requires a non-established business to have a (local) fiscal representative appointed.
  5. ... or Basingrad.
  6. Here's a link to a specialist carnet business. https://www.boomerangcarnets.co.uk/carnet-document This is what you need to complete This is the front page.
  7. I'm not convinced his suggestion (as I read it) that you need a separate carnet for each piece of equipment is correct either.
  8. Bought a DMX controller from Jason. Deal done on Tuesday and the pedal turned up on |Thursday morning. Can't ask for more. Just got to figure how the bl00dy thing works!! Top basschatter and deal with complete confidence.
  9. Never been a fan of lollipop tuners.
  10. Resonant frequency. The guy covers this on his website. It could be what you suggest. Mine rattles too and I can hear it's the truss rod (the website says it's useless anyway).
  11. The link is a mine of information about issues and improvements.
  12. Could still be the truss rod.
  13. Check this out. https://staggeub.wordpress.com/
  14. Sean Connery's record collection. 🙂
  15. That will be 'the Duke' in which they played 'badly' on the the title track to Axe Victim.
  16. About 40 seconds in.
  17. Charlie Tumahai of the wonderful Be Bop Deluxe used a bass with an identical modification.
  18. Go on then. I've got the time after all. PM sent.
  19. Looks like the OP hasn't been online since the original post so may not even be aware of the development.
  20. Hmm. Note the power light on!!
  21. I was bombarded with the Hot Club and the work with Yehudi Menhuin. He was ok but his over-use of needless harmonics was a bit tiring. Mind you, I am a philistine.
  22. Potentially a good price I'd say. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gibson-Les-Paul-guitar-used-owned-played-by-John-Miles-Music-1957-59/323776510860?hash=item4b62957b8c:g:ossAAOSwPc9WxxyS
  23. I actually played that very bass in the studio during my time with the Pretty Things. I used it on recordings with Ronnie Spector and David Gilmour and also the single Eve Of Destruction, which made it into the top 40. It's a lovely bass for sure.
  24. What if they were to stick a mic in the room and record the rehearsal? Don't have to keep the recording.
