1. I already have aged Olympic white :-) I agree it's always a corker though and haven't ruled out entirely!
2. Hey all, quick poll... I'm in the process of spec ing a custom jazz bass. I thought being able to choose the colour would be great but it's giving me a headache :-( It'll be a 66 light relic, rosewood with blocks and binding, body colour headstock... What colour would you go for? Think I've narrowed it down to either... Burgundy mist Daphne blue Lake placid blue Shoreline gold It's a lovely dilemma to have but what would you do?? 8-/
3. If you like XTC be sure to check out Irish band Pugwash... Band leader Thomas is a huge fan and I hear many little nods to the influence of both XTC and ELO. Pugwash were singed to andys ape label for a while and he and Thomas wrote some songs together. Also Dave Gregory wrote with them and also scored some amazing string parts. In addition Keith Farrell plays some beautifully melodic bass lines on the Pugwash stuff. Essential listening in my opinion! Sorry to hijack the thread! :-) Russ

5. Shipping quote comes in at £18 for this item to mainland UK...
6. In case anyone is interested shipping quote came in at £12 for this so lets call it £50 all in...
7. Thanks Peter! I agree it really is a good little amp. I would be keeping it if it wasn't for the fact my wife made me promise I'd make some room before she would green light the little Aguilar th500 and sl112 purchase you can see in the background of the pic... ;-)
8.
pmd
Replied!
9. Thanks for the history and further details obbm! I bought it from the guy you sold it to I think... I'll update the original listing to show it was Korean made!
10. Hey Paul, new members / old members, makes no difference to me! Drop me a pm if you want to come and take a look! Russ
11. That's the one obbm! Was it you I bought it from?? The memory is fading in my old age! :-)
12. For sale is my Lakland Daryl Jones Skyline Jazz bass... In Lake Placid Blue (sparkle!) with maple neck and pearl block bound neck. Bought this from another bass chatter-er(?) about 6 or 7 years ago but can't remember who or find any correspondence. From memory I think its a 2006 model, crafted in Korea and set up at the US factory. It's an awesome bass with a slim, super fast neck, low action and stunning good looks. I bought this to help me learn to play more gently as the low action and slim neck really lends itself to a more delicate touch than my P bass. Anyway, Im planning another purchase so unfortunately this one has to make room. I'm sure I'll regret it :-( Again from memory, it's the version with the Aero pickups and J East active pre amp for unlimited tone sculpting. Also has hipshot tuners with a drop D thingamy on the low E string. The original white scratch plate was switched for white pearloid by the previous owner and Im sure I have the old one somewhere but can't find it now. If it turns up I'll include it in the sale. It's in pretty good nick! the body has a small scratch on the back but is otherwise almost perfect. The headstock has unfortunately taken a few dings over the years so the asking price has been adjusted to reflect this. There are also a few small dings and scrapes to the back of the neck but nothing that affects playability. See the link to the photos below for more details. It's currently strung with DR Low Riders... Comes in a nice lightweight TGI hard shell case. You are welcome to come and try it out. Im located in Essex and visitors will even get tea and biscuits thrown in! Failing that I can ship at buyers expense. Any questions just ask... Russ Here's more pics: http://s304.photobucket.com/user/haywardruss/library/Lakland%20DJ%20Skyline
13. For sale is this StudioLogic Midi Controller (76 semi weighted keys for a more realistic playing experience). Made in Italy and about 10 years old I'd guess. Has all the features you'd want though such as layering, zones, modulation wheels, aftertouch etc. Comes in good condition, in original box and packaging with instruction manual, power supply, sustain pedal etc. PRICEDROP - now £45 collected from Essex or £60 shipped... Many thanks Russ
14. For sale this beast of a flight case. It came with my Roland RD600 but since I only use the piano in my studio I just can't justify the space to keep it. Designed to fit a full size 88 key stage piano. Exceptionally tough construction of wood / metal with spring mounted end handles and a heavy duty central leather handle. Fitted with padded foam insulation inside Internal dimensions: 141 x 42 x 13cm Collection from Essex or I can ship at buyers expense but it's pretty heavy! Bargain at £60! :-) NOW £60 SHIPPED / £45 COLLECTED! Russ
15. NOW SOLD! For sale... monster of a 3u flight case... None of your cheap plastic rubbish! :-) Wooden / metal construction, with insulated foam layer so will protect from temperature changes as well as knocks. Dimensions are 66cm deep x 57 wide x 23cm height £40... based in Essex for collection or I can ship at buyers expense.
16. Marshall Bass State B65 practice amp for sale...dropped to £70... good working condition except for a very small hole in the speaker covering (shown in photo) This amp has plenty of grunt for its small stature... great for home practice and I've even used comfortably in rehearsals and small gigs (with more restrained drummers). Its rated at 150w / 65w RMS at 8ohms but it really does have lots of poke. It also has some great features which mean there is huge scope for tone shaping to meet any requirements. Features include 12" speaker, active and passive inputs, gain control, bass and treble dials, 5 band eq, effects loop, line out and built in compression and limiter. I don't have scales to weigh it but if it's a deal breaker to know its weight I'll borrow some! here's a link to some reviews... apparently it originally retailed at £350! http://www.ultimate-.../bass_state_b65 I'm located in Essex and you'd be welcome to come and try it out and I'll even throw in tea and biscuits. Failing that I can ship at buyers expense or could meet within a reasonable distance for petrol costs. EDIT: I'm trying to add some better quality pics but not sure how to... maybe these links will work... maybe not! :-) http://s304.photobucket.com/user/haywardruss/library/haywardruss A great little amp! Russ
17. Hi guys, haven't been able to see from online pics but just wondering if these limelight basses have authentic looking checking in the relic finish? They look great from a distance! Thanks Russ
18. I too am gassing for one of these... Just wondered if mark manages to get that lovely checking into the finish that custom shop relics come with? I haven't really been able to tell from the pics on here...
19. Thanks guys, update to follow ;-)
20. Hi all, it's a new dawn! Not only am I taking delivery of my new lightweight rig (Aguilar TH500 and two SL112 cabs) but I'm also having my first lesson with a teacher in about 10 years. Anyway I'm pretty excited and had to tell someone who might care as the wife just said "another amp?" I'm particularly looking forward to starting lessons again although a little apprehensive that I'm going to get a complete beasting! Haven't felt this fired up to improve my playing in a long time :-) Wish me luck....
21. Thanks for the advice guys... Maybe buying two 112s is the answer so I have more flexibility from a small, medium and large rig. Although this won't please the wife from a finance or storage point of view :-)
22. Hi There, I have a question about the above which Im hoping someone might be able to assist with. I currently have an Aguilar DB750 with GS115 and GS410 cabs (both 4 ohms) but am considering purchasing a lightweight rig for small gigs (Aguilar TH500 and SL112) My question is will I be able to combine the 8ohm 112 cab with one of the 4ohm GS cabs if required? Say I wanted to use either the TH500 or the DB750 head with the GS115 AND the SL112 would there be any mismatching problems due to different impedance ratings? I have no idea how these things work. Many thanks in advance for any help or advice.
