  1. Mine's arriving tomorrow too! Wow, such excite! Although I have this niggling thing of "ooohhhhhhhh, should I have gone for the 50?!?!" 😖😖
  2. Great sounding amp for its size. At low volume I prefer the tone of this to my PF-500. Have used at rehearsal in a band with three guitars and keys before (kinda Alt-Americana though, more Wilco than Sonic Youth) and it held up. Good as a monitor if you're hooking it up to a PA for larger gigs, perfect for smaller gigs, pubs with noise limiters etc. Tiny split in head handle (pictured) but only a surface split. Handle still intact. Trials welcome, I'm in Walton On Thames.
  3. Neither did I. And yet here we are again... Must be a slippery button because it almost happened to me too... But I've got a PF-500 already and an SCR-DI so figured the features lacking in the PF-20T can be accounted for elsewhere, right? Or should I order a PF-50T too...
  4. They were my favourite band as a kid for the first 2 albums, 3rd I prefer now I'm older but beyond that, yeah, safer than a high vis jacket in the popemobile. Dave Grohl though, love him. Have all the time in the world for him. And for those saying about boring basslines, check out some of Nate Mendel's earlier work with Sunny Day Real Estate and Juno (album A Future Lived In Past Tense). I respect them immensely for who they are and where they came from and what they meant to me as a kid.
  5. yeah man, pm me 😃
  6. Good for a cheap project, came with a crappy Squier I bought. Collection or postage gets both. Sorry the pic is upside down 😃
  7. Man, all you weirdos that held on to your guitars and didn't sell them on to fund your GAS... what's wrong with you all? How can you have so much self control and where can I get some? And you'll never know the bittersweet pang of regret when you sell something and only realise what a fool you are years later. Or sometimes an hour later. Or sometimes as you're receiving the cash...
  8. I was looking at one of those last night! Well, what I think you might be talking about (links don't show anything, hollow body?). Never heard of them til then! Any good? Also; unnamed walnutish P bass, maybe a Kay, definitely weighted more than the guilt I felt for selling it to a mate. Probably did her a favour though because it made her stop being cheap and buy something a little more usable shortly after =D
  9. Yeah, I have also left stuff in the car tbh but only ever in my drive way with bits out of sight and the boot backed up like you say. But I also live in the burbs. But I teach from my house so people can hear bass and drums so I'm an obvious target...
  10. 😖 Is that what they mean by thick as thieves? Maybe he just needed a hard case though...
  11. £10 - Pearl J - fits a regular American J so should fit Mex too I guess - inc. post
  12. Thats where the 'incredible' part comes in. Without the magic tote he's just Hulk.
  13. Then I guess you're right... https://youtu.be/TzMSfaNXYZg (That would work so much better if the link would embed)
  14. It's all on facebook, man. I swear, I never see posts about bassists losing their gear. I might make a few screenshots to show I'm not crazy. I mean, I know that obviously we're not immune I just never hear of it. Started on guitar, preferred the sound and feel of bass, always wanted to play drums but never allowed a kit when younger but eventually ended up drumming in a band I bassed in because he was sh!t (and a massive silly billy) and ended up getting more gigs on drums so stuck with that a few years before now being mainly on bass again ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  15. I'm having a dry summer, all my students are on holiday and played my last gig til September on Wednesday so I've nothing better to do right now =D Also, I have severe GAS
  16. Glad to hear you got it back! One of my bands, one guitarist left his guitar at a gig. A week later asked us "has anyone seen my guitar?" 6 months later he returns to the venue and his guitar is still on stage exactly where he left it. Luckily it was a favour playing at his step dad's churchy thing. Still... WTF?! No idea how it took him so long to connect the dots. Another, in the same band, left a super rare Japanese strat from the 80s I think at a function he thinks. Years ago. Swears he knows exactly where he left it. Didn't do anything about it at the time, now laments its loss. I drum in that band. Often the guitarists will ask if I have a spare lead or plectrums. 😒
  17. Yeah I did hear about that actually. I guess because the link wasnt as immediate I didn't acknowledge it in the same way. But he got it back, didn't he! I gues the moral is if you're gonna have shizz nicked, make sure you're famous first? =D
  18. Ah man see I just can't do that, have to bring it all in. Maybe I'm the weird one!
  19. And! Every week I see a post about missing drum or guitar gear but never bass gear. Literally. I've never seen one "my bass got nicked" post. Just my experience of it 🤷‍♂️
  20. Ah, scams are a different thing though, I've narrowly escaped a couple by the skin of my teeth. I'm talking about the myriad "my stuff got stolen from my car" posts I come across. The 'ah that suuuuucks" reaction is quickly superseded by "WHY DID YOU LEAVE ALL THAT IN YOUR CAR OVERNIGHT?!" Didn't mean to rub it in to anyone that is going through a loss of their own, sorry chaps and chapettes!
  21. @dood sorry man, the 2nd half was general, wasn't aimed at you specifically. I don't know a great deal about him, only really know him because of one of my students 😃
  22. As if any band member in their right mind would allow someone to bring that monstrosity on any stage =D From what I've seen, his vids are harmless fun, I believe some of them come from random follower suggestions so he'll build or acquire some ridiculous machine for the sake of the vid. But bare in mind we're in the age of people amassing cult followings and making a living out of filming themselves playing effing Minecraft. I'd rather watch his impressive nonsense than some inane silly billy like that Pewdiepie et al.
  23. A post on here led me to thinking... of all the "look out for XYZ that got stolen from a gig/car/back of my bicycle/my drunken hands" posts I see on F******k and the like, it's never rarely bass gear. So, at the risk of perpetuating the divide between band members and the reviving the old singer/drummer/bassist joke type thing, why is it seemingly only drummers and guitarists that get their stuff nicked? Or, as is the case with 2 of my band members, leave their gear places and forget about it, never to be seen again? 🤔 Any of you ever left your gear in a car overnight or left unattended whilst you've gone to get whizzed? p.s. I also drum and play guitar in other bands so not ragging, I'm just really anal about my gear and it astounds me how little others care for theirs.
  24. Again, as per the Greek, pups would be my next port of call after checking the set up if the problem persists. Don't know if you've registered your bass with Fender but when you do, you can download manuals and sometimes schematics pertinent to your bass. Might be worth checking through all that to see if there's anything you've missed? Never done a fretless setup so don't know much about them but I'd imagine the string height will have to be different to a fretted bass which in turn will affect the pup height.
