  1. The Mojo's are great pickups, I've got them fitted to one of my Thunderbirds. I've also got a set of the Eyguitarparts pickups in the link above fitted to one of my Epiphone Thunderbirds. They are good and great value for money but lacking in power compared to the Mojo's although this maybe due to me asking Marc at Mojo to wind the pickups I bought slightly hotter! I've just had a set of Mike Lull's fitted and so far they seem bright and clear but maybe a bit too modern sounding but some of that might be the new strings. I'd be struggling to justify the price of them if I'm honest I'd say my current favourites are the Thunderbucker 66s. They seem to have a warmer, more vintage sound and tone to me than all the other but YMMV
  2. I've got a set of Mojo Thunderbird pickups fitted to one of my basses and a Mojo Mudbucker waiting to be fitted. Marc has also made me several wiring looms for my Thunderbirds as custom orders and I've had a Les Paul and EB3(SG) wiring looms too. I'm happy with all of the bits I've fitted so far and I've found him to be very helpful, friendly & easy to deal with.
  3. Hello Bass chatters, I've just joined up and thought I ought to introduce myself as seems custom round here. I started playing bass in the early 90's. I'd originally been a rhythm guitarist but a lack of bass players in the local area coupled with a copious amount of Newcastle Brown Ale one evening sealed my fate. I switched from being in bands playing original material to covers bands around 2002 and have never looked back as I found I like the experience of seeing an audience dance all night and then getting paid. I mainly play Gibson Thunderbirds although I also have Epiphone, Rickenbacker, Vox, Washburn, Ibanez, and a Dobro basses lurking in the house. I've been experimenting with different pickups in my Thunderbirds, and the Thunderbucker 66s are currently in the lead. Amp wise I've used Peavey, Carlsbro, Fender, Hartke, Marshall. I finally thought I'd found the sound I was after when I got a 90's Ampeg V4BH but I've just discovered a liking for Orange! Cheers Rod
