  1. That's a beaut Russ. Saw a similar one on sale at BassBros a while ago and I took too long to decide and when I finally make up my mind to buy it, it was sold! Eden rigs were one of the best for a while. Such a shame that they were bought up by Marshall and was never the same again.
  2. I know but accidents do happen! 🤣
  3. I find the horns on the Original a bit lethal! 😂
  4. WOW...... That's impressive! 😮
  5. So I was wondering how many members in BassChat are owners of a SEI bass ? I finally bought a Flamboyant 5 last year from The Bass Gallery. Martin was so kind that he checked the bass thoroughly and replaced a worn out electronic part for me. He also told me the story of this particular bass. It was a very early built in which the bass was numbered but Martin stopped numbering them because of the process it took could be a health hazard to himself! Sei basses are amazing to play and look at. Combination of woods used and workmanship are breathtaking. Some people hate the head stock and I must admit I wasn't too keen on that initially. However, when you are actually looking at the instrument and I beginning to understand the logic for the minimum head stock, is to reduce unnecessary weight and improve balance. Forgot to mention John, equally nice and could be funny sometimes when he's in a good mood! 😂 Of course the rest of the boys there are great and helpful too.
  6. Any idea on the string spacing @ the bridge? Thanks.
  7. Yup, it's not too far really. Go try it out feel the actual bass is the best solution. Good luck!
  8. Well, I just knew the partnership wouldn't last right from the beginning! 🙄
  9. Only been used once. £45 postage included. Thanks. https://hidersine.com/accessories/product/60-double-bass-gigbag-3-4
  10. And live happily ever after! 😜
  11. Totally agree with you Chris, well said 👍 Do like the gloss finish but it's a £500 optional extra! 😥
  12. The SM1 does kind of grow on you after a while. That shape has character.
  13. I am sure Ken Smith has already claimed his authority over the early design! I think the SM2 on the photo looks much better also. The new owner of this bass says there is no neck dive so I guess the body weight must have balanced out the neck weight.
  14. Yup, never seen a bad Sei. I have a Flamboyant 5 and it's totally awesome!
  15. Hmm, think you're right. This one needs to put on a diet too! 🤣
  16. I agree the SM1, full-body one looks as though it needs to be on a diet! I wouldn't say it's ugly though. Just different. The SM2 looks a lot better IMO.
  17. I know what you mean about Ken Smith basses. It is totally KEN SMITH, in person. If anyone have communicated with him before will know what I mean! Used to dislike the look of it but it kinda grow on you though. 😅
  18. I missed out on the 20% Black Friday sale. Let's see if there is a Boxing Day/ New Year sale coming up or not! 😑
  19. Yeah, it's a good move to steer away from a total clone of a well known one. Not too sure how the filter preamp works though. Is it like a fixed tone, pre EQ thingy?
  20. https://www.jonesbasses.com/ I recently came across this and I know it's a clone on the "you know what" basses but I think Mark Jones, the luthier, is heading in the right direction. IMHO, there is nothing wrong in cloning. Sadowsky, Mike Lull, James Tyler, Suhr, Overwater etc etc. The craftsmanship on the basses seem to be very nice. Best of all, it's Made In England. Just wondering if anyone has tried out these basses. There isn't much information or review on the Internet. Merry Christmas ALL!
  21. Bass Gallery in Camden just sold one at £3400. So this is a bargain guys!
  22. Thanks. I took another look at the bridge and I think they are adjustable. It's a beautiful bass. If I hadn't already ordered a Stradi, I would definitely be interested. Good luck with the sale.
  23. Any idea what are the strings spacing at bridge on this one? Thanks.
