1. Don't know what it is but this seems to happen to me all the time. Normally by the start of the last set some drunken tw#t picks up my favourite bass, staggers around, plugs it in and then tries to get my band my mates to jam with him. What an arsehole! Oh Yeh,its my turn "not" to drive again!
2. Got some pics from him,its a sb700 not bad nick too,a tone knob missing.I have the batwing model so was gonna have a punt but just bought a Neuser Cloudburst,of the ebay for a good price, they were 2.5k new.So won't be bothering with the sb now.Its gotta be worth a couple of hundred minimum. Also just had an email he doesn't mind if you organize a courier and he can take paypal.
3.
They charge that much simply because they can. Although the one that really worries me is alembic. How can anyone justify charging 8 grand for a bass and then have the audacity to put plastic control knobs on it and lay them out with all the efficiency of a toddler?!?!
Ha ha,but for some reason I would still have one if I had the cash, ever since seeing Stan the man doin school daze on an old video, mmm
4. Well I will find out a day I can get a place in Lincoln, would a pub be ok? Maybe in a couple of months then will post it on general bass chat if everyone is into it! May need some help.I will get a date first though
5. Well if anyone is interested in a Yellowbelly bash,I could get a venue,a pub in Lincoln.Don't know how these work but its a start. From acorns and all that!Or is it best to post this thread on one of the other forums?
6.
This is rapidly becoming the Lincolnshire and surrounding areas bassist's club - Shall we have our own little bash?
+1 That would be a cool idea,if we got another 50 people or so on board then it could be a green for go,anyone else up for it,Yellowbelly Bassbash Yehhhhhhhhhhh
7. I had the same problem with my 94 thumb, turned out to be the tone pot faulty, cleaned it a couple of times but in the end replaced it,problem solved, also check your earth links between pots if you have a multi metre.
8. I fitted some QPs to an old mij p bass that did have DiMarzios in it,big volume difference and really punchy modern sound.Didn't think the treble was ott especilly finger styley, agree with another BCer they almost do seem active due to output.I do think they did have a great P sound to them also.I havent had experience of the other pick up but would happily use QPs again
9. Hi Charlie, big hello and welcome from a very close neighbour
10. Early morning bimp

15.
Really?? I thought that sounded the least impresive
+1. Also this might be just me but are the warwick strings like new and fender strings quite old?The fender just seemed to lack the new string tone sound,if you know what i mean.
16. Either way,if you cant be bothered to put it on your profile, put it in your add,,,,,Simples kk
17. Pm'd,also is that with the tuners
18. For my ears, more tonal woods are heard at there best acoustically.I have seen a certain guitar maker tapping on prospective woods to hear the tone or note of the timber. Now this might sound nerdy but this must work for him.Pick ups and electronics may mask or enhance these basic "sound of wood" which incidentally I thought was Warwick promotional jargon, but the best stringed instruments the best tonal woods surely should be used, and no doubt each has its own characteristic, but the Luthier's secret is which one does what and were, for thick, thin, warmer or hi-fi sound, sustain etc.My brother has just bought some very expensive woods for a guitar build, will let you know how it sounds, but then it may take a while,(2,000 years to age lol)
19. I use a trace 1048h and if its a big venue just stack my other one on top, more than enough bottom end, punchy as fook and moves a lot of air,bob on!
20. Well, started on my new spring project, right handed jazz body(Think T.V. yellow) EMG vintage pups, bart 3 band active(3 way switchable mid)and goin for a left handed telecaster neck, with rosewood board. Will start sourcing hardware as and when, will post some pics when get my bluetooth workin.
21.
Wow! I bet that thing weighs a ton.
Ha cool the Wright brothers.A must listen to band.
22. I use trace elliot 30 90s,really nice and bright.I got 8 sets of ebay for 40 quid bout 6 months ago,I thought it was a missprint ie 8 strings not sets.on my last set though so will look for some more. You will need to tweak your action and maybe your truss rod though.
