1. Had some interest in some of the hardware,if anyone is after a 60s style neck or needs a 72 jazz body?
2. Mmm, must resist trades..... Straight sale, sorry.
3. Price drop bump. Gotta be worth that in parts???
4. I am selling my spare 1973 jazz bass which I purchased bout 6 months ago from knackeredjazz now surplus to requirements. Will use his sale link. The only difference is I swapped my 73 refin black body for this original finish. Will post pics too. I paid £850 but after around £800 with hard case posted. Will knock off £25 if you wanna collect which I would prefer..Oh bass weighs 9.1Ibs so a very light jazz. Price drop £650,suppose I could break it for parts if I get the right parties, neck, body, bridge, tuners, pickups? http://bit.ly/1ropBwA
5. I used TE 4x10s for a long time. Pretty good and reliable just a tad heavy! Lol. Had the new trace ones too.Got myself a pair of MB 4x10s now a HF front ported, monster bass end and sweet mids and on top I have the HR 4x10 which has loads of punch and its rear ported. Definate difference to each cab. I have had Swrs, warwicks, trace elliots,Harke,Ampegs,Ashdown and a couple of handmade 4x10s but will stick to these MBs now. Best cabs I have had for overall tone clarity and bottom end. Couldnt get on with the MB amps though. I just use my Trace V4 Mk2 200watt valve head.Everything set pretty flat and its awesome.
6. Mmm, passive or active? You say clarity and growly? Single coils best I suppose, get some overwound/hot pickups, around 9/10k and if you want growl use 1k pots, woods dont make a tremendous amount of difference tbh, more pups and electronics. Theres a start!!
7. Anyone interested, need a sale as skint! £1450 for this weekend
8. Another price drop to £1600.really need to sell
9. Just seeing if anyone on Basschat is playing at this event. Its an all weekend gig with around 20 bands on. Should be a good rockin weekend!!
10. Cracking Ibanez blazer. Great big P sound. Weighs just over 9lbs on not very good bathroom scales.lol. Nice tobacco finish. Got several chips and dings but its old and a player. Hardly any fret wear, necks dead straight and action is really low. All tuners are original, electronics and pick ups. If you want a P this is better than most for build and sound. SOLD ON EBAY Can post if required,no hard case but will pack well. Postage around £25 Here is a link to some pics http://tiny.cc/paioex
11. Trace elliot 4052h,4x5" 200watt @ 8ohms. Great sounding speakers, one has been replaced. This can be linked with any cabs and it wont effect the overall ohms due to the internal cross over. Now £100 Can post, will probably be around £15. Here's a link. http://tiny.cc/k1foex
12.
Stunning bass and a superb price! No name change required for the bassist who knows their quality instruments- however I think I know what you mean... If it was to say fender, it would be classed as a deluxe and £1K+ Shame it's active or I'd take it matey, all the best with the sale
Exactly right. Mind you I could make it passive if you like?,not a problem
13. Best get everyone to have a listen in future, check see if their happy, dont have this problem in my main band,I am the singer lol. Seriously though,I do like to hear the guitar too an bass sometimes can get some Wob wob frequencies in some rooms, may be a case of some eq or it may as stated earlier that the singer is a dick and the keyboard player needs to move from behind your amp. What did he expect, does he have a monitor amp or just monitor mix? Going off subject, played last night with 2 bands on the bill we soundchecked no problem all levels great, the first band using all our gear had feedback issues and started moaning in soundcheck, singer kept putting his hands round the mic!!. We hadnt touched a thing ?? Anyways keyboard didnt have an amp,(doh) so Di'd into our mackie rig and set a level, fed a bit back through the monitors, seemed happy then when they started the set she wound up her keyboard volume and drowned everything out! One of their band groupies was picking fault,of course we sorted it but if they left stuff alone but oh no! Tried to explain about FOH mix and she ought to get a monitor amp etc all she had to ask for was more thru the monitor mix but it went over their heads.Sorry for the rant but I know what you mean, primadonnas! Got another gig with em in 2 weeks also, lol
14. I woudnt worry,I have a Trace Mk2 v4 200watt 4 kt88s. It gets pretty damn hot which is handy for the kebeb rotisserie mounted on the rear! Hot hot hot...lol
15. Is it an old Rik? I had one once with this problem and even changed the pickups! Found in the end it was slight corrosion on the inside of the input jack, not the tip(pos) but the outer earth bit of 1000 wet and dry did the trick, couldnt believe it! Worth a look?
16. 72 Fender Jazz in black, mostly original, Neck date 7 oct 72,pots week 44 of 72, serial number 35#### original bridge and tuners, scratch plate not original but custom cream tort.Neck has original frets and some wear but not too bad. Body finish is pretty good but paintwork cracking,no extra holes in body or routes either. The bass only weighs 9.6lbs too which is very light for a proper jazz! Two knobs have been replaced ( non bakelite ) and the chrome bridge and pick up covers are old but not original but you wouldnt know it. There is a chip in the original fretboard finish which has been resin filled but doent affect the playing and a chip out the headstock again no issues Need a straight sale due to no Job!! Original Fender case too, would prefer pickup but can courier On Hold http://i1203.photobu...erJazz72001.jpg Heres a link to some pics http://tiny.cc/bsxeex http://tiny.cc/5wxeex
17. These were bought as AXYs so that would make them hum cancelling, the series l/ll were true single coils pickups according to Alembic with dummy hum canceler. Your right that it will need a low impedance pre or booster like the Boogieman, but cause they are wound hotter they will work with most preamps too.Albeit a lower output though>
18. A lot of pick playing too!
19. This really is a fantastic bass, the build quality is superb. If only another name on the headstock!! lol.
20. Bumpy
21. Sunday bump for a cracking vintage bass
