13.
Bump for a piece of artwork. This one looks really beautiful! Also the condition seems to be fantastic for a 33-year-old bass. Personally, I hold two of them, 1980 and 1981. Thinking about selling one, however, I am not able to decide which one. Simply, I love both of them.
They are fantastic,I am keeping my 1980 Ibanez 924 ltd edition, slightly different neck pick up position and lovely grain natural colour ( more access for slap ) Also I have an early 77 musician,22 fret neck similar active, well beaten up but plays ok,would keep this one but need a new band van so a few bits and bobs gotta go!
14. Played at some venues that insisted on Pat and Pli certificates. On arrival at both recently, took in my neat folder with certs etc and both werent interested on the night! Unreal. Having said that, the pat test found 2 dodgy kettle leads and a 4 way extension. Its lip service for the venue and a feeling of safety for the band. How many bands play with no testing and not even a circuit breaker? Not slagging it,we did it for years!
15. I always used to play through the heavy weight cabs, mostly Trace 4x10s,hartke's,marshalls,hiwatts,ampegs etc.All sound great, strong build etc but heavier than Jupiter! So tried a few lightweights and have a pair of Markbass 4x10's. The sound quality is there, actually better, more punchy, tight and great lows, the size, lol is there and I gotta have bass near my lugholes! As for build? Well, talking only about MB cabs, bobbling carpet covering like candy floss and those pathetic plastic corner protectors that just break as soon as they rub against, well anything.Cabinets are strong and braced superb, its just the little bits that p*** me off. Would probably still take shelter in a Trace 8x10 if a Nuclear strike was imminent!
16. You cant go to far wrong with an old 70's mxr/ maxon made fuzz, manufactured in Japan with brand names of Grant,Coron,Memphis, storm, electra, locobox and others, all look and sound the same really.Great for bass,I have Grant distortion 15 but its definately a fuzz!,works well with both passive and active. Simple layout, just volume and drive, they get filthy too and dont loose bottom end. Snap em up as their coming collectible, think I paid 50 quid for mine a couple of years ago!
17. Vintage Ibanez musician, absolutely huge array of sounds from these 2 large single coil pickups, hardly any hum too. Can be passive or active, perfect ebony fretboard, dead straight neck, all the electronics are original and work perfectly, not much fret wear, there are a few dings here and there and some buckle rash to rear but pretty good overall condition. There is a couple of small holes thats been wood filled were someone previously had put a thumb rest but not that noticeable, after a straight sale really price drop SOLD ON EBAY
18. Ibanez sold!

Fave guitar solo?

John Perry's feel and tone on this Only ones track just fits the song and lyrics perfectly.Nothing flash to great feel, main solo around 2.40 but a couple of little teasers before. Good solid bass and drums too! http://goo.gl/jGD7Uw

Fave guitar solo?
I suppose I could post any number of Bill Nelson guitar solos that would highlight his sheer genius but this has to be my favourite of all time. Starts at 1.49 and doesn't last nearly long enough.
+1 for Mr Nelson, absolutely sublime tone, always right on the edge.Great singer and solo player?
21.
What is this "lightweight" crap everyone cares about so much nowadays? Not heard a single one of these class D lightweight toys produce any desirable tone! So what the amp weighs 20 kilograms, is sounds da bomb! Since when is 20kg too much for a grown man to carry anyway... Whimps.
+1. Sorry this is funny!
22. Bump for a great bass,I had one for a while, wish I never sold it! Hard to beat for the money, great quality and superb players, nice electronics too.
23. I had a V6,really nice amp but had reliability issues,it now resides in the states,I now use a Mk2 V4,for me a better amp, valve compressor and a real dirty channel. Its awesome, would of prefered the V8 for a little more clean headroom but its plenty loud enough before breakup
24.
Phil from Subhumans always had/has a good line, likewise Jasper in Citizen Fish,
+1 for Cradle to the Grave, strangely got me from listening to Punk and Intruduced me to prog,80s was a void of electro imho and just picking up the guitar listenend to early back catalogues, thanks god for the 80's lol
