I enjoy playing the bass arrangement to Poison Heart, it's super simple, but damn it's Fun! Dee Dee wrote that song from in jail, & used the sale of the song to get himself out. I honestly think the lyrics were a poke at Johnny for being so cruel, and not just boosting him out of jail.

I enjoy listening to The Misfits, absolutely abhor playing Jerry Only's boring arrangements. Similar with Black Flag Melvin Gibbs played for Rollins, so maybe there's some interesting arrangements.

That's a good diagram, because if any one driver fails, it will still continue to function. However, it's 8 Ohms total: 8+8 in parallel = 4 (the pairs on left & right) 4+4 in series = 8 (left through to right is in series) It's still safe for your amp, BUT you'll get roughly half the Power

I played with fingers for about 5 years & was dead against using a plectrum. Eventually I came to realize many of the sounds I was after were easier achieved with a plectrum, & I found The One: I soon realized strings last longer when using a plectrum, so it's here to stay. I play almost exclusively with V-Picks, except the occasional time that I want an abrasive attack, which means I use Tortex: No teardrop-shaped plectrums for me, only the unilateral shape, so that all 3 corners feel the same & you essentially can use it 3 times longer.

No one around here calls it that, & I've heard the local luthier talking about woods, w/o ever using 'tone'. You'd only call it 'tone' wood to your wood supplier if you wanted them to increase the price. In the local luthier's shop is the first time I heard someone say BASS wood & pronounce it like the fish. I had always assumed it was pronounced like low-frequency notes. I'm reminded of how some people think Christmas is celebrated in every corner of the world, it's not.

That goes back to my point above, as long as there are artists willing to give it away, things will remain the same or worse.

TBH you don't even need the Capacitor. Experimenting has been done that shows JUST a Resistor sounds the same as when the pot is fully clockwise with a Cap installed.

Some like 'warm', the removed high-end. I'd prefer they made instruments out of Titanium, so I can get all the rich timbre out of it as possible, and I want my split-coil wiring in parallel, not series. Fender already takes away the top-end by using 250K Ohm pots.

Using the term TONE wood almost implies that the wood imparts certain frequencies to the timbre, but it's the opposite. Certain woods remove frequencies of a certain range, such as Ash is supposedly scooped. It's not reinforcing the highs & lows, it's removing the mids. Paul Reed Smith did a Ted-Talk where he discusses how ALL of the system of a stringed-instrument is subtractive, there are no additions. Of course he's commenting on 100% passive instruments. It's not a process of ADDing anything, it's a process of substracting the least possible.

Apparently fully Graphite necks have Zero dead spots, so it's not just cork-sniffing!

When the string vibrates at a frequency resonant to the wood, you get dead spots, so yes it does make a difference. When the wood is vibrating at a resonant frequency it saps away the energy from the vibration of the string.

FWIW, if someone has already decided to dump the BH2 pickups, I'd have no reason to 'rant about Bartolinis'. Not sure why someone else thought I love the Zen Blades, because I think the Big Singles are The Best. What's-his-name made the correct choice with Big Splits, but might have made a better choice to just get the EHB1505 to begin with 😀

Try it first, my Rickenbacker 4004 never sounded better than when I wired the pickups straight to the jack.

It's likely a failing component on the preamp board. So, you'll be best taking it to luthier who is well-versed in Electronics. I'm lucky, the local luthier used to be an Electronics Tech in the Army before getting into double bass repair, then stringed-instrument repair, & eventually building them from scratch.

Trouble is that modern lappies aren't actually grounded. Had a noise issue with my Lenovo ThinkPad when trying to use it with RockSmith, essentially sending my instrument output to two inputs, my amp & my TV soundbar via the PC.
